You may be able to soften the BOP hits on your birds by changing the time that you fly. In listening (ya, listening - I do that from time to time) to Dave Moseley he flys his birds late in the evenings. He has his kitbox area aluminated and his birds return in the darkness and land due to the elumination. Make sure the light is not directed upward. Gets in the eyes of the birds and makes it difficult for them to see and alight. He said he has the one flood light bulb up high and shinning downward. I am going to try it.
I guess the BOP have dinner hours and is through with his hunt early enough so he can return in the light to eat and feed his family and still catch his favorite prime time programs and enjoy his evening; do a little reading and computer stuff. ---------- Nick

I question those that fly very late, or in the dark. How do you focus on the birds performance if you cant see them?..Just a question. ----------

Jerry,
You don't start'em in the dark and if everything goes right without any incidents they will land when it is still light. But, the iluminations will assist in the landing of your kit if there is a problem and the birds are pushed up and land late.

Nick, the problem with that, at least from what I've seen on more than one occasion, is that IF attacked by a BOP in the waning hours of light, you risk losing your entire kit due to an overfly instead of just one bird. It all depends on the area, what is hunting, and do your sacks clang when you walk..lol
