Good feed less flying and it depends on your climate here in Las Vegas it started getting hot in June so I think that could have brought on the moult sooner then a climate that didnt get hot till this month.

My birds are like yours, Ken....just starting to moult a little. Lot's of crappy flying days ahead, I'm afraid. Setember 1st it will get good again. By the way, the preliminary info and schedule for the Fall Fly will be in the next Bulletin. Cliff

I'm hoping to get my feet wet this fall with 11 birds. You guys have encouraged me, my birds are flying like crap due to the molt. By November when we fly here in Montana I'm hoping they are flying like there were a month ago! Spud

My old birds and A team birds are plucked and parked for the summer. They won't see the skies again until late September.

Slowly getting my 2 comp kits (11 bird)together.Depending on when our region is scheduled to fly will make a big difference for me.We usually fly around the middle of Sept. but with the Convention dates being 21st,-23rd I am guessing we will fly after that.I havn't heard anything from the RD yet.I am afraid if we fly after the Convention several won't fly because of the Migration period. However the moult would be better after.I just hope we fly.LOL. I've already sent in earnest money to our RD. We are going to fly right after labor day. I doubt that I will put on any kind of show but I will put eleven birds up for the judge. Started late breeding and don't have but a few old birds, so I will be depending heavily on the youngsters to turn it on. Have been having phenomenal luck with the Bop's this year and just might be slightly respectable. Gregg.

That's the spirit, David! Good to hear from you, buddy! Have you contacted Elric? Don't wait on him!
Good work, Gregg. I look forward to seeing some scores!
Brian, Ditto on the plucking and parking. What does your conditioning program look like prior to the fly with your old bird kit having been plucked and parked? Cliff

Conditioning program? I assume you mean once I start to fly them again. When they are locked up, they just sit around, molt, get fat, etc, etc. I put them on wheat when I put them back into the boxes which is usually about a week before I plan to let them out. I used to start them out a month before fly day, then found 3 weeks was better, and now have resided that they only need about two weeks of flying to be back on point. Not much to conditioning them really, just take the fat off them with the wheat and fly time, get them in good condition to want to spin.
