In my old age I have learned that you can bring on REAL and lasting change or improvements only by working within the system you desire to change. How are you going to improve or change the current direction of the NBRC by not becoming a member or not renewing your membership? How much influence do you think you are going to have by standing on the outside looking in?
Get in and take part. How many of us has emailed the NBRC officers with your concerns? You had better protect that organization because without it we would be hard pressed to replace it. Refuse to be involved in the gang mentality that is flourishing right now. Nothing will be resolved by it; nothing good will be gained from it. ---------- Nick

Hey Nick, I have ALOT of respect for you and for that reason, I will consider your post above...
IDEA: What if we (this sites members and visitors) started a "reform party" to take back the club by seeking the elected positions in the NBRC and to make the needed changes to appointed positions as well as address policy concerns in an effort to keep the club from collapsing under the current regime?
We could nominate individuals and create a platform right here on RPDC to run on and encourage new memberships to the NBRC who would support our platform and our run for offices as they come available.
What do you think? Anybody else have an opinion about this? ---------- FLY ON! Tony Chavarria

I have re-thought my first response and I didn't like it; I erased it. I believe the platform is already there with the constitution. It may need tweeked a bit to get it where it should be. There are some missing items and some that are too vague to be totally useful. We just need to get more involve and provoke others to be involved. Challenge people to vote; to accept nominations if they are nominated, etc.
So it is all about choosing successors to those who we want to replace or are not running for re-elections.
The club must be kept in place as it is and change the leadership by our votes if that is what we feel individually is needed. ---------- Nick

Tony; Sounds like a revolution to me! I would support your idea if, and only if, the club disintegrates. If you don't like the leadership elect new ones in a few months. Meanwhile I will not desert my friends in the hobby just because they got ambushed. The only thing that will work is rebuilding the public's confidence in us through an aggressive campaign to introduce them to what we are all about. Al

Hey Al, that's what I mean, not a revolution, do this for the upcoming elections, working within the system to elect new leadership. ---------- FLY ON! Tony Chavarria
