It HOT, it's so HOT you could.....
Tuesday is was 97 here, it hit 100 just forty miles away.
I have quit flying my birds for the time being because of the heat. What is everyone else doing with there birds? They seem to be drinking lots of water, and cutting back a little of the feed. Maybe next week it will be a little cooler???

Jim, it's tough this time of year, I have been flying in the evenings but they still dont want to lift, then you couple that with the mould and they look like culls. Just the Summertime blues is all.

The heat usually isn't a problem here if you fly in the mornings. It doesn't start getting over 90 until about mid morning, usually the kits are flown by then. Oddly enough this has been the coolest summer here that I can remember. Usually we are over 100 everyday from mid july through the middle of September. I think we've only had but a handful of days over 100 and that seems like weeks and weeks ago. Only been getting up to the low 90s lately and the marine layer has come in which is very unusual for this time of year. I actually had to put on a sweater this morning it was in the low 60s. Completely out of character for this time of year. Must be that global warming thing..lol.

Jim, here in southwest Missouri the heat is not to bad as long as you fly early. I try to fly my birds around 7 or 7:30am that way their down and back in the kit box before it really gets HOT! Since I'm flying all this years young birds I'm not having a to deal with the molt yet.

Here in the UK, after two months of record-beating torrential rain, we've earned our August which so far has given us lots of sunny days, typically around 75-78 maximum. The fact that my rollers seem to have forgotten how to fly when it's not raining, is the only downside.

It was so HOT they are all wearing sweat bands now!

It was 102 at 11:00. It was so hot I saw a pigeon thumbing a ride to the mall. It was so hot the fire hydrants were chasing the dogs. It was so hot the ice melted on the Coors billboards and the labels turned red. ---------- V99 Flippin`The Bird!

I'd rather not complain about the heat because in three to four months it will be below zero and freezing my ass off. I take the hot weather anytime and put up with the humidity. Although, I don’t like the humidity but I can live with it but I hate the freezing and ass biting weather.

It's so HOT that even the birds are taking a break from breeding and hanging around the water cooler. Talking about the coons last winter.

Hear an seen the sketters are the state bird there. The BIGGEST sketters I seen are in Ely Minn, they are so big there that that sell permits for killing them before they suck you dry! :)
