How long would it take to see a change in performance in your family of birds if you added one or two UNFLOWN birds to your breeding program, Years, months, Why ?

The first season you fly the offspring will tell you. How many do you breed out of that pair in a season!! Whatever you bred will tell you what direction it is taking you.

The first season of new birds does not show you where you are going to be or what kind of impact they are going to have on your program. You will not realize any impact good or bad until the second season.

A side note - I don't think you can really evaluate first year youngsters. When asked I just respond with an empty; "doing good". Because of this it will be two seasons before I can understand the ipact of two new breeders that I have added to the current family.

Nah George,
It's not that easy to set us up. You have to stipulate to a few things. Are they unflown birds off of a proven pair of performers in your loft? Are they unflown birds off of a proven pair of performers in somebody else's loft? Big difference there. Are they unflown off of unproven birds or did you just see something down at the swap meet that looked pretty? I can relate to pretty, but that is a whole 'nother story about pink pigeons. LOL.
Gregg.
