---------- Hi list, I had a 10 day old squeaker today that this mornning had it's crop blowed up like a big bag of air. no food in the crop. I pricked it with a pin and let the air out. I checked on it tonight and it was blown up again. And no food in the crop again I, culled it. I was wondering if you have seen this before? and what makes it happen? It's the first time I've seen something like that.Kim Tppenden

Croppers are supposed to do that dummy LOL LOL , there was probably nothing wrong with it, it probaby just sucking a lot of air when feeding , I have seen this when hand feeding, just squeze it gently and its like burping a baby. Scott

Did you look in its mouth for canker? I had a couple do that last spring and they both were nearly plugged off with that yellow stuff! They would try hard to eat, but nothing was getting through but air! Just an idea! I tried fish zole, but they didn't make it! ---------- Val

Sorry it did not need culling. Probably it is sour crop. thouth we had covered that. Maybe some place else. It is caused by sour graines in the crop. tip the bird upside down and let the fluid run out. A little baking soda in some water, use eye dropper or something in order to get some down into the crop. Couple time and the bird should be fine. Richard
