To All:

Thank you for your past involvement in All Roller Talk. I hope you continue your association with me and the forum.

I have my reasons for my decision, first off, lighten-up, the person in question has been contacted and we are in the normal process of discussing our differences. He has up to now handled his position with class and civility; I wish more would do likewise who have absolutely nothing to do with this whatsoever.

I know more everyday, just who my friends are through this forum and who the knee-jerkers and gossipers are who take advantage of the posting liberties I have permitted on both the forum and chat board.

For a very few, posting seems to have become a game of “let me argue to argue, regardless of the merits”, for some its “I know all and see all”, no they don’t.

Don’t let my easy-going editorial style have anyone think I am a push-over. That mistake has been made before. My patience wears thin lately as I read the actual content of those who would be king.

Perhaps my fuse has gotten shorter and I apologize for that but give some person a reason to whine and they will. What a fickle bunch that wants to raise a stink over this!

I normally appreciate what certain individuals have to say, however, as it relates to this incident which has nothing to do with them, I don’t.

When individuals throw around a word like “nazi” to get their way or to incite others to some action they want, they are in fact; revealing themselves to be just the thing they accuse others of.

Tony not long ago there was a subject or topic that invovlved gossip and kneee knocking persons who are my friends ..What goes around comes around!! I kept my mouth shut out of respect. Its good for one to have the freedom to express themselves. Let it Be... I had no hard feelings and still continue being everyones friend . Were adults here not teenagers. When we speak truth and dont hide things ..Then why is there any reason to get sensitive.. You said you cleared your differences....We are all diffrent ?? what is there to clear up>?
What gets me is when someone is loud mouth... then when someone says something about them they get all hurt and cant take the comment>? Much Love and Respect*

Every time I have "knee jerked" a response to any situation I have had to apologise to someone because I did not take the time to seek out the whole story . I think we all had better let Tony and the other concerning individual work this out in thier own way and in thier own time. I have a ton of respect for both parties and I think they will come to the proper agreement that will be right for each of them and the list.

No guys, this particular thread has little to do with George. I sent him an email explaining in detail my position, I copied it to my Moderators; I have received an email back from him.

Up to now I have not had a chance to go respond properly, but after reading his email back to me, I think he understands, at least I hope he does, where I was coming from, he responded in a very positive way and I see it was I who had the misunderstanding.

George will be up and able to post before too long if he wants.

=================

I started this thread to clarify my feelings and thoughts on what happened because of what was posted publicly about the situation last evening. I have since removed that thread but have a printed copy here next to me.

Here is what happened. Last night a thread was started titled “George”, in this post it was insinuated that I am allowing the site to become "nazi censered" (sic).

And also to quote from the same post, "...if it is getting that shitty around here it is time for all of us to move on..."

That is by someone I had respect for and considered to be a "mover-and-shaker" in the hobby that is why I feel the need to respond Brian, lest at his mighty word, everyone leave...

Brian, I know you feel RPDC is just another website attracting only an insignificant 10% of the numbers compared to the total NBRC membership (BTW what percentage of the NBRC membership actually votes on anything?) but to me, its everything. Can you understand? I think so, but you will want to argue it cuz that’s what you do.

I am very approachable and it’s amazing what can be handled offline or via private email when someone wants to work things out.

Brian, if you have anything else you want to say regarding this issue, please contact me via email. Use the CONTACT US button and I will receive it.

Tony you are doing a marvelous job hosting the ALL ROLLER TALK. With all the problems that are going on in the world and national roller clubs it can be very hard on all of us. The honest people viewing the all roller talk are behind you 100 percent. Dont ever forget that Tony but on the other hand there will be some things said that will put you on edge. It could happen to all of us because we dont want anyone causing problems in our beloved pigeon fancy. The natioal roller club that the majority of us belong to have members that are discrediting certain members and the club. I was a close friend of Bill Pensom,Ralph Hilton and manyother prominent enthusiastic roller breeders. If anyone caused trouble in the the club they could be put on suspension for two years. After two years with good behavre they could be reinstated into the club. They lost all privledges the club had to offer during that time. If this club policy was in affect today it would make a big differene in the national club. I believe the majority of the members want there voting privledges back for the betterment of the NBRC. it would encourage the members tremendouly to think they are helping the club today and in the future. Tony and all dedicated faithfull competion roller fancirs keep your chin up high because better things will come forth with the help of Jesus Crist our Lord. Have faith! In the sport,RaySanchez

Tony, I argue/disagree with certain points of view that you have. Some of them I will bear down until my knuckles are bloodied and I am exhausted..lol. You are no different that some others. Hell, KGB and I have vastly different opinions on subjects and go toe to toe with our opinions, but we are still good friends. Why is it you feel that when someone disagrees with you that they are "arguementitive"? Is it because this is your site? Or just your personality?

And I don't recall ever saying that I think this site is just another web site that attracts only an insignificant 10 percent of the membership. Show me where I made that comment to you. I'm getting older and don't remember as much as I used to, so please refresh my memory.

I guess by the simple fact I visit and post here nearly every day is a way to conclude that I would think this is "just another website". I enjoy the site and think it is probably the best thing going in the roller hobby. Oh, but heaven forbid me say something like that else it might be construed as arguing with your point of view.

The captain of a ship makes the calls, but a great captain doesn't rush to judgement nor cast off the opinions of his subordinates.

Personally I think you invest way too much personal emotion into the site. Unfortunately there is a growing sense in some members that "we don't want to piss off Tony". That's not good. I'm sure you can figure that out. I've even gotten to where there are some opinions that I know others will agree with that I don't post anymore simply because I don't want to end up in another pissing match with you. Face it, when you create a web site and open it up to the public, you have to be flexible. You, in a way, have to just be "one of the guys" instead of the all-seeing eye hovering overhead ready to strike down any one who opposes your opinion.

If I am mistaken as to your intent with the communication on this forum, please let me know.

Brian,
I don't have an iron in this fire, just following the posts. So perhaps I'll point out one perspective that hasn't been mentioned. Tony has refrained from pointing out the obvious, not that he owns this site, but that it is part of his livelihood. I have watched you argue points to the nth degree, and yes, you do love to argue.
Arguing is not the problem here. It is the tone of the argument. You started your last paragraph with "Personally I think you invest..." Kind of hits the nail on the head. Any argument is allowable as long as it is in good taste and does not get personal. Every time someone gets personal in one of these arguments, Tony is potentially losing business. You are a veteran of many lists and know full well how many guys are turned off when the arguments get personal as just recently on another list. Suddenly there are ten less potential contributers to the list. In this case, it is ten less potential customers, so yeah, I believe Tony has a right to get upset when arguments get personal.
I've been upset with some of his rules but I still find this to be the best interactive group that is out on the internet at this time. And, personally, I want to see that it stays that way. So we have to modify our behavior a bit, I personally believe it is worth it.
I have watched you and Tony go back and forth on assorted threads. Never once did he ask you to back off. I will say that in response to your post he did get a bit testy. But he also offered you an alternate recourse via his personal email or you could have simply picked up the phone and talked to each other. I have spoken with both of you at different times even though we have never met. I find you both to be highly intelligent men with a passion for life. May I suggest that one of you pick up the telephone now.

Thanks for your insight Gregg. I've enjoyed our conversations as well, especially the genetic ones..lol

I don't have a beef with Tony. We do share a difference of opinion about some topics and people can take our words any way they choose, that being an arguement, war or just casual conversation. Nothing is personal unless someone calls someone a derrogatory name or posts negative comments in an attempt to damage integrity. Some people might take someone's post personal, that's their own issue, not the original poster of the comment.

I don't choose to argue with others. However I will express my opinion on a subject whether it is agreeable to some or the opposite of someone else. It is a forum where opinions are asked for and expressed. And if my opinions differs from some else, and I stand my ground on my opinion and fail to concede to someone else's opinion, makes me argumentitive, then so be it. I won't lose sleep over it..lol. This hobby is filled with massively differing opinions about topics.

Hey Brian, thanks for the comments. Really, I mean that. I appreciate the time it took you to go through my posts and try to understand.

Look, I have been doing this for almost 4 years now and some posts do upset me but I do not do or say anything about them at all. I have let 100's of posts I disagree with stay.

For those concerned with pissing me off, its simple, read the posting policy and consider it when posting. Honest misunderstandings are easily fixed.

I have banned less than 5 people since January 2004. That would be like 1.25 people a year. Not much chance of anyone being banned, I have suspended even less and probably half of those have had posting privileges restored.

I have been accused of letting too much go, so, it's not as bad as some might want to make it sound.

If you knew me personally, you would find out I am a very easy going man, however, I feel very strongly when someone questions my integrity, tries to take food from the mouths of my family or snipes at me. Those are 3 areas that will probably get a response nearly every time.

Please realize, this website and its products are how I make my living. Imagine if someone could go into your place of employment and just start talking smack to you and about you anytime they felt like it or say things to you that your family, co-workers and boss could hear. (I thought so...)

What I have to work on is identifying how accurate are my perceptions when I think this has occurred. In the future, I will work more closely with the Moderators to gain their perspective before I fire-ready-aim.

As for emotion, I am passionate about my birds, this site and its value to visitors and forum members. It is worth fighting for and I will continue to protect my interest in it, and further more...! Just kidding! LOL

Okay Brian, it's cool, let's get back to the tail and stopping the roll argument! lol

yes sir i have felt if i told the truth about incidents that have occured to my friends and myself in ALL roller TALK i would get penalized and cut off the post. I have spoken to Tony about NBRC REGIONAL DIRECTORS and WORLD CUP COORDINATOR in District#5 Tony has a good idea what has been going on long before he moved to southwest Missouri Tony has already delt with some of these misfortunate problems. I also want to tell concerned roller fanciers about discriminating problems that occured in California and Missouri regarding flys. I know there are people that care less about protecting the roller pigeon and natioal clubs. If everything goes right with them and there schedule time to fly they dont care about others. Its all about me,me,me. Everyone made some good remarks about the ALL ROLLER TALK. We have a lot of years and experience to tell roller men and wemen. Therefore get it together gang. Your in the sport,Ray

Sorry if I was suggesting that you and Tony had a beef. You were not the reason for Tony's original post even though he did bring you into that post. I wasn't trying to imply or infer that. Just trying to get two good guys back on the same page for a few seconds at least.
