I originally posted this subject to the NBRC forumn, I am looking for additional comments/suggections, Thanks in advance.
I am getting back into rollers and I was looking through Foy's catalog from the link on NBRC's website. I am totally baffled by the amount of medicine available for pigeons today. In the past when I had birds I always kept the following items available: Wormer Something for Canker Something for green runny droppings I noticed on Foy's site that they now have a 5 in 1 that takes care of all the above along with providing the birds good bacteria, is this something that you use? Or do you all have a list of meds that you keep available? Any and all help/suggestions will be greatly appreciated..

Hey Richard, welcome to the site.
For general pigeon ailments, seems like most have the MedPet 4in1 powder on hand. It is a good product and mixes with the water.
Another product for proactive maintenance is Pro-Vital. It is an excellent product and have been using it on my birds, it is THE BEST pigeon product I have used. I will be putting it up on the website soon along with some other items.
I would suggest you invest in educating yourself and get The Flying Vets Pigeon Health & Management book by Dr Colin Walker. It is a bit pricey, but what are your rollers worth to you?
Let me know if there is any other way I can help you get the most from your participation. ---------- FLY ON! Tony Chavarria

Tony, Thank you,
For general pigeon ailments, seems like most have the MedPet 4in1 powder on hand. It is a good product and mixes with the water.
****What does the 4in1 take care of, I used to have problems with canker and the green droppings on occasion? Also I would loose young birds going light in 2-3 days and dieing, theey would be nothing more than shin and bone. If I caught it early, it did not matter what meds I gave them they continued on their way to death. I started killing them as soon as I noticed it as it was horrible to watch them die.****
Another product for proactive maintenance is Pro-Vital. It is an excellent product and have been using it on my birds, it is THE BEST pigeon product I have used. I will be putting it up on the website soon along with some other items.
**** Pro-Vital, can you give me some more info on this?****
I would suggest you invest in educating yourself and get The Flying Vets Pigeon Health & Management book by Dr Colin Walker. It is a bit pricey, but what are your rollers worth to you?
***I am interested in this book and will get one when funds allow. ****
Thanks again for you input. Richard

Hey SATroller, Welcome. The All in One I have in the cupboard is good for coccidiosis, canker, worms and respiratory infections with a probiotic also to get the gut bacteria going again after all the antibiotics.Cracked corn can cause canker.I once a month give my birds electrovites, garlic(for bugs and other stuff) and apple cider vinegar in their water.A rich mix with pigeon pellets for the breeders. ---------- Kelly

Thank you for the responses.
I did a search on the site for apple cider vinegar as I had not heard of it being used on birds or people for that matter before I found this site and getting back into rollers.
How many of you use apple cider vinegar?
How often do you use it?
How much do you use?
Thanks in advance, Richard

Richard, I give it to my birds every other day or so! I get mine at a health food store, the all natural kind. It still has all the minerals in it! It cost like $5.00 for a qt.I put about 2 tbls in a gallon of water!
I drink a couple of tbls in a bottle of water most every day myself!I won't bore you with the details, but i have no doubt I'm a healthier person!
