Blue sky's today.
It did get a little warm, but I was still able to get all the birds out.

Looks like those birds are having a good time. Definitely looks like that blue checker is working hard. Those front feathers are having a hard time getting back where they belong.... Smoking!!!

You guys are killing me with all these pictures...

i must say that is one of the best photo,s ive seen in a good while. about 85% of the 18 birds flying were doing a flip at the same time. great shot good job well done.

Ray,

The bird is panting, so I would venture to say that is a spinner and was working hard at it. Either that or it is like Milo said it is either singing or talking.

I have had my birds on straight wheat after about 30 days of a mixture (high protien and fat) to get them quickly thru molt. Also yesterday I had a juvenile hawk hanging around and walking underneath the kitboxes. When I released the first team today they where bouncing off every roof in the yard; it was noisey and it made me say a lot of cuss words......It was weird and alarming all in one.

They did finally get their act together, but my God I was not prepared for that. That bluebar that everyone seemed to be proud of I believe is now ruined; he took a beating a couple of times and got stuck in the house guttering. He came up bleeding. We will see in a couple of days.

Like those natural pix, just birds being birds. No cages, no wire, just blue sky and a great place to land.

Milo,
Yes, she can sing.....lol
The reason I brought this up was because I have bred birds this year that roll just as hard as this one but the feather is not like that on the chest when they come down. They will come down with the feather pulled back on the head, just not on the chest. So that would lead me to believe that the feather quality on this bird might be a little soft.

What do you guys think ?

Well, I have never had 'em look like that. It is either soft or the bird has a cow-lick(LOL)

About half my A team looks like that after a good fly. Notice the horns on the head...The birds that work really hard look like that. I think it also is related to the frequency of the bird, and ya, may have to do with the feather type. You can bet that bird is doing something, they don't get like that by being stiffs.

Milo,
The bird is built much like the other birds Im flying.
The feather quality seems good.
Here are more photos of the bird.
I think the birds a keeper.
I will fly the bird in the FF this year.
Thanks for your opinion Milo.

That bird is fine. The feathering looks a little soft but even a hard feathered bird that is rolling fast is going to mess up the breast feathers.
On my birds that are really ripping, they have parted breast feathers and owl ears. Depending on feather quality, some will also have their secondaries shreded and completely broken off from the extreme velocity.

Nick, you haven't seen that in any of your birds? It's pretty common.

Ray that is a dam fine looking bird. I would agree with Milo as I see this quite often and never on a bird that is not working its ass off. Hes a keeper if he can hold himself together. Joe

Russ,

I have had the "horns" off the head and feathers sticking out in many directions. I just haven't seen what looks like a hair parting(cow-lick) on tthe breast.

Ray,

Damn fine looking birds and the expression is outstanding.

Hey Ray, All nice birds! My opinion .....the rolling style of that bird makes those chest feathers bi-part like that! I bet that bird tends to ball up with very few feathers sticking out
creating a part right where the wings come together next to the chest while spinning! That's the next level most of us don't see! She's the type that most should want in the breeder loft! Keep an eye on her style and speed, should be second to none! Thanks for the pics! Otis
