LMAO..your a funny guy.... Just got in from flying 3 kits...they worked good..wind is breezing a tad, which turned them on more..they were hitting twice before making the turn..I like when they are feeling good.

... I let my birds swing around on the hammock .my dog keeps them off the ground..they love the life like I do.sometimes they look at me and say to them self you go fly I watch you from here lol,,,my kid hangs out with them after a fly. -

Pensom.had tipplers,homers,Modenas ,Rollers and Orientals.
This is what he says about the Orientals in 1945,
"The Orientals rollers is often associated with the Birmingham roller .I have heard it said that crossing the Birmingham with the Orientals brings about an improvement in the performance of the Birmingham .Without hesitation I wish to impress fancier with the fact that such is not the case.On the contrary ,it is the Oriental that is improved. The type of the oriental is totally against the art of true rolling. The length and breadth of the tail alone proves this. If we consider a Birmingham possessed of long, broad tails, it is easily seen that the roll becomes a distortion of the standard, no matter how quickly the revolutions are made. I experimented many years ago with a view to improving my rollers by crossing with the oriental. The result was, after 3 regeneration, a return to the Birmingham type with no improvement with the rolling propensities. "

I strongly feel that it be quite imperative that the main objective & focus be strictly on the performance qualities of the Birmingham Roller Pigeon with color as a mediocre barrier to achieve the breeding of champion performing roller pigeons.
NOTE: Below is an excerpt from the infamous "Hall of Famer".

For some reason some people have to take shots at William Pensom whenever someone posts something positive about him. Mr. Penson isn't responsible for what the hobby has created regarding pure Pensom blood and the continual debate about his contributions to the hobby. Plain and simple, Mr. Pensom had the desire to share his knowledge of Birmingham Rollers because of his love for them, and he had a ability to put his knowledge in writing in a manner that the common person could relate to. In his time the only way to communicate widespread was writing, no internet and fingertip resources for all to see. The man deserves respect and admiration for his contributions to the hobby. His name still is in the forefront to this day regarding rollers. Any negative impact created by his contributions was at no fault of his, it is us in the hobby who are at fault on that. Enjoy your next fly!
