This is one of my favorite young birds this year. He is what the old flying guys called roller dun. Not the true dilute dun the color guys breed. Its a slang roller term for the ash red dirty dun color Roller men have called dun for many years.. So you genetic color boys don't bother correcting the color term,, I know its not a dilute dun. LOL just hope I can get the picture up.. Don't know why I have such a hard time getting pictures on here,, LOL KGB

Thanks Ray, Now if he only rolls like he looks,,LOL Hey, here is that birds great great great gandpa.. This is living proof a bird don't have to look good to be a great producer of roll! LOL This is Narley Head, CCRC-96-#613 named because he was beat and scalped as a youngster. His neck and head feathers have a gap of skin were the feathers never grew back. He has produced many a fine roller and breeder. His young and their young are producing in more than a couple lofts. He is a good one, hate to see him go dry but I have alot put away from him now,, anticipating the day,, LOL,, I know he is FUGLY!! LOL KGB

I saw the painting that Clyde did of Narley Head. I like the looks of the bird. But then, I always liked RAT BIKES......lol
Sounds like he has been a champion for you in and out of the stock loft. Do all your birds go back to him now ?

Ray, Almost every thing I have in the loft now goes back to him or one of his Brothers or sisters. I have one other leg of the family,, the Hollywood side that is a little different but related. I cross the two for vigor but run both lines pure also. Its a breeding stratigy that has served me well for 25 years.. Here is a picture of one of Narley heads sisters I have mated to him this year and one of the other side of my familly,, the Hollywood side.. KGB

Nice birds Ken, I can't wait to establish my family of birds. Find out what my best producers are and begin to work around those birds.

Kenny,
One thing I have learned over the years is that the owner is always right about his birds(LOL). To tell ya those birds look good is like telling John Unitus that you like the way he throws a football(LOL).
I'm cute and clever, aint I?

Kenny may find this boring, as he probably has a loft full of these. I will attest to the producing power of this cockbird. Below, from top to bottom is Narley Head's son. Perhaps my finest producer. The second, his son that is really producing some good ones for me. The last pic is of the champ hen I just stocked. So as you can see, many grandkids from your loft Kenny. Take care of that bird. He's one in a million.

Hey Nick, You are clever and I happen to agree with you post to Ken Firl.. You have to have the gene pool {stock} and then its up to the manager what he makes of them. You can't make chicken soup out of chicken crap, but you can make crap out of just about anything!
Milo, I have the old boy back on #368 and going to leave them together for the winter. Try and get a few as they are both getting old.. Hey, this is Narley heads full brother.. He is the father of #604.. I think you will remember that number? LOL KGB

It was a pleasure seeing more of your breeding stock. I havent seen that old cock bird ccrc 96 +613 since i visited you in Idaho. His head is a little flat but he a good one indeed. I havent bred a dun like yours in several years but i have two dun cocks mated. One cock came in spinning 100 ft. and was lost for one month. Then out of the clear blue sky he came in with a kit i was flying. I flew him for over a year and his depth was around 40 ft. every time he went into a spin. He is definely a hi-velocity spinner and is mated to one of my hi-velocity mealy bar spinners. You flew one of those mealy bar hi-velocity hens in competion in Modesto. Montana Rick saw a few of those hens including other prominent roller breeders. Actually i have two of those dun cocks mated at the present time. After the molt the camera will be rolling so be ready for the families that are being bred in my lofts. I have one famly that is mated to your family that breeds simular stock and lot of pearl eyes. The top and bottom black checks and blue checks bred approximetley thirty years are being mated to the family above with great sucess. They are my =514 family with orange eyes. I know you are aware of what im saying along with others in the fancy. But there are so many people breeding rollers today that dont know how to breed scientifically. Thanks for sharing the pictures of your great stud of competion rollers Your friend,Ray

Thanks Mr. Sanchez, I have a very small stud of the old blood compared to you. You have got to have the largest stud of the old Pensom famillies in the world. That old Mealy bar line has speed second to none in the world in my honest opinion. That Black muff cock I have here from you is throwing the roll and its not coming late either! doing quick 3 footers after only flying a week! Who says the old stock is late? LOL Glad you enjoyed the pictures and look forward to you getting that camera going. Your Friend for what, 37 years now.. Man can you beleive that,, My my how time flys.. KGB

Ya Kenny.
I know the number...LOL You are right on the money. I am trying to get a few more breeders from him. I have the kitboxes full of 531 X 604 young. Ya, it's a hot mating, but the good ones are real good.
