Those are some great pictures of the prominent roller breeder in the USA indeed. All the northwest roller breeders met at NPA National Shows and some attended the LAPC Pageant Annual Show. I met Bruce Cooper when i was very young at a NPA National Show held in the northwest along with other great fanciers. Those were the good ole days gone by. Someday ill let you know more about those glorious days. I knew about Tom Monsons father way back in the fortees including Gary Gilbert,Paul Bradford, and Mr, Childs. Then of course i know manymore pigeon people living in Utah. Tom Monson was a very young boy when Bill Pensom lived in southern California. But i was always interested in meeting his dad and wanted to buy some of his rollers. Then of course i kept track of young Tom Monsons pigeon career from the start to the present time. We met in Idaho when Paul Bradford was still living but we never spoke about pigeons. I wanted to visit with Tom when the NBRC held a Annual meeting and fly several years ago in Utah. I paid for my ticket but i got sick that weekend so i didnt attend the NBRC Annual meeting. There will be another opportuity some day to dicuss many things about the hobby. I had the opportunity to visit with Frank Lavin when he lived in California. The Idaho roller club held some shows and flys so we met there too. Another time was at the Oklahoma NPA National Show and Piedmont roller club annual fly. I have some of the Lavin stock crosed into my stock because the pedigrees are closely related. Ken Billings and mysef traveled to northern California to meet Joe Houghton many years ago. He was judging the northern California Roller Club Annual Show. Two local roller breeders bred and flew his stock in CCRC competion flys. Joe Kiser flew a few years with the Mc Cully stock but dropped out of competion flying. Joe Borges never competed with his Polona and Mc Cully stock but he showed them with the local all breed club. It would have been great if they competed to see their rollers in competion. But other roller breeders flew them so it gave us a chance to see them in the air. I enjoyed visiting with Norm Reed while living in California.Chris Saybe and son went with me to visit and purchase birds for Chris and his brother Mike Saybe. We saw lot of good birds at Norms house and it was a pleasure visitng with him. Then i got a chance to see him judge too. Enjoyed those pictures immensely,Kenny. Your old friend from the sixtees and two thousands. Ive kept up with your life in the pigeon fancy for a long time.Keep on trucking with your rollers and tell the family hellow. Sonny Ray

Ray,
both Joe Kiser and Joe Borges have competed in WC and Fall flies in the last few years. Borges qualified for the finals in one of the 2 with a very nice kit, don't remember which fly it was though. He has since gotten out of the rollers due to BOP predation. As you probababky know he lives on the shore of Lake Commanche and was getting absolutely hammered.
Regards,
