How do you get a young kit, (3 to 6 months old), which routinely flies so high that you can barely make them out in the sky during most of the first 20 minutes of their flight time, to fly at a lower, viewable height?

Feed type? Feed amount? Keeping them out of shape? What do you do in this situation?

It goes without saying that each family is different but all responses will be helpful.

Thanks in advance!

Yes.

Cut their feed.

I had cut their feed to about 1 tablespoon per bird, per day already which was causing flight time to be about 30 - 40 minutes. I was hesitating to cut it down anymore because they might fly less time and they already felt light to me. Would you cut even more?

I've had this type of problem too but, mine fly too low.
I increased the wheat to get them up. You may want to increase the milo. Which will bring them down. Give it a try....thats all you can do. Hope it all works out for you.

cut out the wheat! Feed more milo! That should bring them down somewhat where you would like to see them in a few days.

If the birds are in condition cutting the feed will make them fly longer. Put them up for several day put some weight on them and then reg. feed the day before you put them back into the air.
These question are really hard to answer with out knowing what kind of condition they are in. How fat or light are them. How often you flying them. How old. Does you family usually fly high.
Really High flying can be controlled by the feed can and amout of exercise they get. A lot don't agree with me but it works if done right.
Too fat and they usually they don't want to fly.
Now take into condition the weather. has it been hot and them turned cooler, or cold and turned hot.
