Hey Richard, Welcome to the site. Just do a site search and look for the post from safire. His method works easy.

Welcome to roller-pigeon.

Just start by joining photobucket.com

Once you have done that, upload some photos.
When you have got that far let us know and someone will walk you through putting those photos on here.

Richard, scroll up to the top left corner and click on "All roller talk forum"! Then scroll down under the picture of the kit flag , should be another advertisement and then you should see this:

SITE SEARCH Live Roller Chat Reading Room Report Posting Violation Free Newsletter RPDC Blog

Then you just click on Site search!

Ray,
I have been away from my PC for a few days, there is a lot of reading I need to catch up on.
Thank you for responding, I joined PhotoBucket and have uploaded some pictures of my loft that I have whipped back into shape and would like to share them, how do I get them on to here?
Thanks in advance,
Richard

Richard, once you have a picture down loaded into photobucket,go to the HTML image below the picture , I believe it is the third down one out of the four, click on it, then click on edit, click copy, go back to your RPDC post and click where you want your picture and then hit edit and paste!

Couple of other way:
after clicking on your HTML, right click, hit copy, go to your post, left click then right click, and paste!

After clicking on your HTML, hit control C, go to your post, left click, hit control V and it should work also!

Just play with it! I'm dumber than dirt and I finally got it!LOL

I enjoyed looking at your roller loft and set up. The size of the wire on the fly pens could be to large. But it looks good because you can see your birds better. I use one half by one inch steel wire for safety precautions on all of my fly pens. I noticed your traps are for racing homers and not for rollers. Are your rollers flying up to the traps and getting out? If they are you have to file the metal down on the top ends and hope the birds dont sqeeze out. Good luck1 Ray

Thanks for all the positive comments, it is still an on going project.

Ray, the traps are never left open, I took the picture that way so folks could see they are three kit boxes hanging off the side of the main loft. You are absoletely correct, if left open some of those birds are pretty smart and get out of them. What I like about them is that you get 4-7 trapping all at the same time, when I flew before years ago my kit would all be in sometimes in 15 seconds or less. Of course that was when they were good and hungry. When they're not the platform that they stand on a dominate cock can cause you some problems by playing king of the mountain, chasing off everything that trys to go in.

Another thing I like about them being side by side is that I could move a bird from kit to kit and they never miss a beat.

Main loft is 8'x8' divided down the middle into 4'x8'. First 4x8 is the breeding loft, second 4x8 is odd birds pen and I also get to work with the kits from the odd bird pen and don't have to worry about them getting out over my head. Kits are released by lifting the trap, once they get used to it they can not wait to get out.

I don't have a lot of room in my yard and I wanted it to look as good as possible. I still need to repaint the top trim to match our house exactly. Need a few more perches and one more kit door on the inside and I am all set.

Richard

Hey Richard..........Nice looking set up and well thought out too,I might add. I like the way you have your landing board, all 3 together like that... Do the birds get released thru the trapps??
That last pic, is that outside cage in the breeder section??
