As most of you know I am back in rollers again and will not start flying again until early January when I will be training my youngsters from the birds I have collected over the last couple of weeks thanks to some great folks here in Texas.

In South Texas what times seems to be good to fly to excape the birds of prey?

What months are there more of them in our area?

Is January too early start with youngsters in this area?

I know I had been saying I had not seen a BOP in my neighborhood in several years, you guessed it, this past Sunday I saw a coulple of big crows running off a hawk, looked like a red tail, they were chasing him and making a lot of noise.

I hope I have a lot of crows in my neighborhood.... :-)

Thanks in advance,

Richard

Richard,
I live in Ohio, so I know very little about Texas, but I feed the crows daily! Stale bread if I have any works great, I would even go as far as the Day-Old Store. I would guess Texas has them also.A store that sells at a greatly reduced cost, backery products of all types. The crows help me with the B.O.P. and more then earn this small contribution. I always check the local pair to see if they are calm, they always raise a racket if there are any B.O.P. in the area. I hope this helps!

Thom
