Just wondering if anyone uses droppers? And if you do, what breed do you use as the dropper? Aloha, Dexter

Whats up Clayton, I was thinking of using a dropper to get a little more control of the birds. I was just wondering what would be the best breed to use. Thanks, Dexter P.S. Rick S. should be here sometime next month. He said that Gary Barres picked up all of his birds the other day.

Aloha MR, A dropper is a bird like a fantail or other pigeon that doesn't fly very well that is tossed up on the kit box to get your kit to land or "drop". The kit is trained to the dropper by showing them the dropper every time you feed them to get the birds to associate feeding with the appearance of the dropper. Sort of like a whistling or shaking the feed can, just another tool to help control our birds. I'm hoping that someone with some experience can share some of their "tricks" with us. Aloha, Dexter

Many years ago the white fantail was used for a dropper and you can get your kit down when you put the fantail on top of your kit box. You have to start with a young bird kit first to get the birds used to the white fantail.Sonny Ray

I just tape one of my bird wings up and toss it in the air and it'll just land onto of the roof top and it'll fly back down to the kit box and it'll lure the others down...That works for me...Chai...

Hey Chai, I never thought of trying that. Sounds like a good idea and I don't even have to get different birds as droppers. Aloha, Dexter

Hey Dexter now that rick is moving to the Bigisland now you guys should make a club. A guy who uses a fantail as a dropper leaves the fantail with his kit of rollers like he is part of the team.

I will put my show cage on top of my kit box, drop a couple rollers in there and that has worked for me in the past.

I fly 5 kits mostly young kits And Iv'e noticed with Some kits a bird will come down and the kit comes down. Sometimes a bird comes down and lands and the kit goes on up to there regular flying height and flys the time. Ignoring the early lander. It's like sometimes they are flying low with the one that wants to land. And then when it's lands they go up and get down to buisness!! Iv'e never had a problem, and used a dropper. Iv'e had them ignor my whistling and keep on flying!! over fed. But I might try throwing a few in a show pen up on the roof like Ray does sometime. But most likly they will stay up till they re good and ready to come down! ---------- Tapp
