well i know what it is like know .a hawk hit me today my first young kit first hawk hit for the year .man i felt like dirt holding that young roller in my hand watching it fight for its last breath .i do not alike them bop.anymore hardtime

Sorry to hear it. You might try varying the time of flight to see if that helps any.

This is a problem that were having all over the USA. If a person doesnt fly everyday lot of rollers can be saved. Good luck1 Ray

Hardtime,
maybe keep em locked up now for several days and if they get attacked next time you fly them,lock down till the spring.yeah,it's tough when the birds get hurt or killed by BOPs but you can breed more.

I know the feeling...I just lost two of my best birds out of my A-team. One was taken for sure by a Coopers and the other I think flew the coop because it was scared to death. Eveytime my birds started to land they would get chased...the flew for 4 hours until they just ran out of gas and landed...that is when the cooper got the bird....the other birds were so tired when the hawk hit..they just ducked down...did not even fly....the birds were beat!!!
I rarely lose a bird from my A-team...they are "hawk trained" from being chased....so they usually just stay aloft until the threat leaves.....the cooper just kept coming back...even after getting chased off my red tails...I feel your pain manQ!!

Ya. I lost a good one yesterday to the Falcon. I thought I could sneak in a fly before my FF qualifier, but nope. Drove the A team for 4 hours. I will lock down til fly day. The 21st. Hang in there, but don't fly if you don't have to.
