Great Sunday morning to all. Just got finished flying my birds. What a way to start off the day. Anyways, as I read the posts put up today. I always like to click on the names of who put up the post. Most of the time the user profles are BLANK. I was just thinking that it would be a good idea if each and everyone of us would write something about ourselves in this space. This way we could get to know alittle about you as we read your posts. Just an IDEA.

Thanks Paul, I've been trying to encourage this too! It just helps to put things on a more personal level! We don't have to put your street address and phone # for sec risk, but at least the state we live in and a little about our birds and ourselves! I get caught up with a few things here in the next couple of weeks, and the molt ends, I'm gonna get busy with the camera and get some pics on my profile also! If you ck out Jerry's (missouri flyer) profile out, you can see a few of his birds and loft! Pretty cool!!! We can't let him get away with out doing the rest of us! LOL--------

Kelly, I take it you didn't get to read my post about them. Unfortunately I lost them all in an overfly. It was a sky with BIG fluffy clouds. I let them out and they went up, up, until they went out of sight. Right up into the blue skys above the clouds. But, Iam NOT giving up. I'll have some in the near future to report on for next spring. And thanks for asking about them

You have to log in first, then click back to main page! Above the page to the right should say your logged in and beside that will have "user profile"! lick on it and it should take you to your profile page, then click on member info! Best I can remember!

Paul,
Sorry to hear about your overfly.
Do you think you could give us your zip code, time you flew and day ?
I would like to look up the weather conditions to see if I can find a pattern to watch out for.
I overflew my #1 team this year. The weather was overcast. I had wound up my birds for a test fly. They where hit by a falcon and into the clouds they went, never to be seen again. The barometer went to 30.06 that day as well.
IM not sure if that was a factor but it did climb allot higher then normal.

PS......Tony, this would be a good study for us to see. To find a pattern we could look for that could minimize the overflies we have.

Ray,
Definately a spike in the barometor can cause an overfly.Especially if the baro goes up fast.It is just like a huge inverted funnel and when they get to the top of it,they can be gahndi. There may be no wind in the funnel, but outside of it,look out!!

Thanks Richard,
The booted stuff is off of old Jac. stuff that another club member had for years. I still get a few muffs every year, and they work quiet well. I have 2 booted birds mated, a father/daughter mating that throws feathered foot, not just muffed legs.. Again, Thanks

P.S...I see ur from San Antone...I was down there a few weeks back at Lackland...BIG town for a small country butt like myself..LOL

Ray, about 5 days I flew my A team they never went over 50 ft. They drove me nuts, Because I have some depth in my kit. Well I flew two more kits and they flew almost identical. The feed was the same, Nothing different than my usual feeding and flying. My roller friend 60 miles from me had the exact same thing happen, the same Day and time! I think it was a pressure thing. Whats your opinion? I'm going to get me a barometer. And keep some records over the next 50 years! Yea right, I'll be dead by then! Maybe not, I'll only be 101 years old! Just a spring chicken. Ps, I was wondering if a different barometer reading can have an effect to cause low flyng, Just the opposite efect.

LMAO...You know it Kenny...That was the reason for me being in Texas...I drove my patrol car, and made a small vacation out of it..5 days..I had my wife with me..Every time I passed another officer, I would tell my wife " just look ahead when we pass them, and they will think I am speeding because I am doing a transport"...LOL...It worked, as I never got pulled over, BUT, I was in a marked car... there are bad parts tho..I ALWAYS train on my days off, but wouldn't trade it for the world.

Jerry,

If you are ever in San Antonio again, give me a heads up and we can get together. I don't have a lot going right now as I am just getting back into roller.

This will be my first breeding season coming up, really looking forward to it as it has been quite a while since I trained some youngsters.

You sure do have some good looking birds.

Thanks Richard,
I have a K9 seminar there at the beginning of Dec. and will contact ya if I go. I have family 2 miles from the base that I stay at when there. If you ever get over this way, let me know and I will hook ya up with a place to stay, food, and a relaxing place to watch some birds.

Jerry,
I live on the lackland side of San Antonio so we would be in the same area of town. Give me a shout if you end up coming down this way.
Richard
