This hobby will NEVER end for me personally. I have been raising and flying Birmingham Rollers since I was 5 years old and I will continue to do so until I die or am too old to take care of them. No matter what the BOP situation is, or will become, I will still fly my birds to prove them out. That is the ONLY way to advance your stock and the breed. I may lose so many that competition will not be viable anymore, but that will not end my involvement in the breed and the hobby. It will make it less enjoyable, but I will continue on with my birds, and continue on with all my friends in the hobby.
Don't let the doom and gloom take over our hobby. We need to keep our spirits up and keep on keepin' on.

Kid, I actually thought about this for , oh, about the last 5 minutes. What I decided on was my next hobby will be refraining from wasting more 5 minute periods on rediculous ,baited questions.... checkmate ---------- Butch @ Sundance Roller Lofts

Deadend,
I guess I will take up color breeding. That way the first several rounds that I cull while getting the roll back in them I can feed to the hawks and keep them fat and happy.
Then I will have a rare new color to pass along to the kids as Birmingham Rollers.

didnt mean to piss you of mr nick i guess you hate color rollers with a passion
Hey Deadkid, I can't speak for Mr. Nick, but I would rather drown in a drunkards puke or burn in boiling crap than own one of them rare colored crossed up rollers.. Just my opinion and speaking for myself.. KGB

Don't think I'm ever giving up this hobby. It keep me sane and relaxed at times (when my birds are left alone and allowed to fly in piece)

I am glad you said that Dave. Sometimes it does get a little frustrating. Nicely put, and a great reminder as to why I still do this.

I'm already doing what I would be doing if I didn't have rollers! I'm a masochist for rollers as we all are! All signs point to us not being able to win in the long run, but until they take our cold dead hands off of that last fast spinner the beat goes on. Do you realize how dedicated we are to this hobby? 365 days a year thru cold, wind, heat, doom, gloom, culling, non-understanding complaining wives and girlfriends, competition, unappreciative fellow fanciers, sick stupid neighbors, hawks, falcons, cats. There are only three beings that understand us and what we strive for, each other, God and God spelled backwards. Classic cars probably come a distant second for most of us, but one is no good without the other for me. Good question.........easy answer! Otis

Actually there were some good responces to this post. But in my humble opinion, this was`nt really even a good question. If this kid is even remotely serious about Birmingham Rollers, he would be asking questions about how to breed ,raise or train REAL Birmingham Rollers. He`s just baiting us with these dumb questions to get a rise out of us.
Does anyone even know him, for real? Is he even a kid? Is he, or she, anouther undercover, hoping someone will lose their cool and say something off the cuff.
Kid, if you are really just that naieve, I`ll always be the first to apologize if I`m wrong in what I`ve said. But you have been here long enought to know that those of us here are serious about these birds and the nature of your posts do not represent yourself as a serious pigeon guy of any kind.
just my opinion... ---------- Butch @ Sundance Roller Lofts

OK, I'll give a direct answer! I'd be an undercover agent rooting out and snitching on all the lazy, lying, ignorant agents and reporters that refuse to find out the real truth about depredation & rollers! Good question.........easy answer! Otis

Don't be so sensitive kid. You should put your info on the who’s who list to let us all know who you are.
