I had one of those flys today. My A team got up and running. The weather was great 70 degrees 10 mph breeze from the north.
I put them up and about 3 minutes later they were primed and ready after a day off. Started off with a few 5-7 bird breaks. They found an updraft and it was on. They hit about 15-18 breaks in about 7 minutes. Huge 14-18 bird breaks;as soon as they gathered it up they would hit again. At 12:20 in I stopped scoring when they got too high to score in my opinion.
I ended up with 27 breaks. Ranging from 6-18 birds. I just couldn`t keep up they were hitting so fast. There were at least 18 breaks with over 15 birds. I think it was an easy 600 with a 1.4 1.4 q&d. Fingers crossed! ---------- V99 Flippin`The Bird!

Velo,
WOW that is great! If only they would do that for a judge in the fall fly. You never would be that lucky.

Kenny,
I had some good days like that, but the last three days have not been that good.
Sounds like you got some good things going on. Whatever you have been doing the past few days you gotta keep doing them..............and then hold your breath(LOL)
Best of luck to ya, Kenny

aint it funny how your birds put on that perfect performance when you are at home by yourself it seams like every thing goes according to plan the birds are working, perfect height,no predator attacks these seam to be the days we all have when it all comes together, but over the years ive found out the never do this on fly day and dont it piss you off becuse on fly day we find ourself telling the most famous line in roller history you should have seen them yesterday

Nice fly Kenny, I had Morris DeRyke here a few weeks ago. That I got most of my birds from. And my kit had been doing great. We went fishing, All I talked about was my A team. When we got back I kicked them out about 15 mph wind. Well they come out rolling some and went down wind out of site. After 30 min. and no birds in site he had to head for home!!! Well they all came back thank God. But was I ever embarassed!!! ---------- Tapp

I had high winds this year for the World Cup, and to be a good sport to all that showed up, I kicked out my first team only to see them blown from here to oblivion and go missing for 10 minutes!
They did manage to come back but where fighting high winds at treetop level and still managed to stay together and get a couple breaks! Did the same with my B-Team and basically same result!
Well, recently Ron Bieterman (bman) and his wife were on a business trip to Springfield and so we had made arrangements for them to come out here to fly some birds, well the winds were kicking up pretty good and I just couldn't bear to let them out. Ron was very understanding of my decision which I appreciated.
I want this team of 06 and 07 birds for the 2008 World Cup and the risk was just too great to fly that day. ---------- FLY ON! Tony Chavarria

I flew my A-Team today and they tore it up.....I almost cried they did so well. I had a problem before with some outbirds. I removed the one bird I thought was causing the problem and it was the right bird. She was an older bird and dominent. She was actually pulling 2 to 3 other birds out wigh her........problem solved. The hard thing about it is she has been with me for 3 years and was one of my best. She is not in the cull box, but she is not on the Varsity either. I hate it when that happens.
I fly Monday at 1600 hours. Would you rest them until then? Just curious about how you would do it.

Nick, I guess it all depends on how much they have been flown up to this point. I don't like to rest them more then three days before a fly. Your looking at two, thats my favorite, but then again it all depends on the birds and your the only one thats been in the backyard watching them.
Good Luck Nick, you know what to do.

Hey Nick, pull the old hen, you should still have 19 to fly. IF your gut tells you the other 2 will be problems, pull them to. Can't score if 2 or more are out. Good luck! ---------- FLY ON! Tony Chavarria
