pigeons will basicaly eat anything.what you are feeding them now ,is good.but if you are talking breding or fly feed is two different things. when breeding you want to get them feed with a high %.12 to 17% is good.like (breeders cup).your kitbirds should be on a50/50 milo, wheat mix.this will bring out the best or worst in your kitbox.

My birds favor the black oil sunflower seeds in their mix! The oil is good for their feathers! I get it at wal mart!About a 1-5 ration works for me! Mostly just for the breeders, but I give it to my kit during the molt! ---------- Val

Hi, I recently asked a similar question. Many here including myself feed our birds chicken lay pellets. With pellets there is less waste and balanced nutrition. Most say Nutrena brand is best, in my area I can't find them but I use ace-hi brand. I also supplement with wild bird seed from walmart.
The only drawbacks to pellets are loose droppings, I've noticed by supplementing with the bird seed it has firmed up the droppings. ---------- Ed B. Man of few words due to a lack of typing skills.
