My Department sent and Engine down with 4 firefighters two days ago. We also sent one of our Captains as a strike team leader. The crew that went down said that it is Wicked...reminds them of the Oakland Hills Fire. I will be going down to relieve the crew if needed. I just hope everyone stays safe.

The SHERIFF orders 346,000 homes in San Diego City to be evacuated. What an inferno!

I live in Northern California, however, I have friends and family out there near some of those fires.

Speaking about the Oakland Hills fire in the 90's, my uncle who played for the Baltimore Colts in the early 70's lost his East Bay home to that wicked fire.

The fires in So. Calif. are extremely dangerous & terrible according to all of the news reports. Olivia-Newton John, Mel Gibson & Camron Jones homes are in danger in Malibu.

I'm tuned into the t.v. now.

Later....

Yes indeed.... it looks quite bad. Hot air + fast moving winds is what originally fueled the fire. Then those ambers flew over hill-tops and caused more havoc. It's those Santa Ana winds from the North East I hear. At the moment frontline firefighters priority is protecting homes and preserving life.

On CNN last night a reporter stated long ago settlers had called the winds Santa Ana.... which may have probably meant Spanish for SATAN. Here's something to think about, Actress Jamie Lee Curtis (Tony Curtis daughter) says these fires are an act of man.

Hmmm.... interesting

Bush declared certain areas in So. Calif a "Federal Disaster" area. So government $$$$$$ is on the way. Al Gore won an Oscar Award & Nobel Prize on his work regarding Global Warming. Think Al might have been on to something???

....well anyway

Homeland Security Secretary & FEMA director Michael Chertoff says this catastrophe is much worse than folks can imagine.

Tuning back into the t.v. in a few minutes.
