Do you put the band on right side up or upside down? Or is this just a matter of preference? I saw a website that said the band should go on upside down so you could read it when holding the pigeon on it's back.

Thanks Tapp, I personally wouldn't want my pigeons walking around with their bling upside down. LoL ---------- Ed B. Man of few words due to a lack of typing skills.

Look at the band and it is smaller on one side then the other to make it easy to get the band on. It also will be so you can read it.

I like putting mine on left leg with the numbers so that I can read them when they are standing. Then on the other let put a color band so I know if its a cock or hen.

You need to put a band on each leg so that the bird stays balanced when it spins...lol

The band on the left leg upside-down is a race bird thing. The number needed to be read and recorded while in the hand of a neutral competitor.
For rollers I still put them on the left leg, but right side up.
Just my preference.
