If I were to build a double kitbox it would be 8'x 4' x 4'. And I always use wire for the floors. And as far as the doors are concerned. It would depend on where you live. Iam in Ohio, my doors are solid but, I do have a wire cage 36"x36"x36" attached to the door with hooks so I can remove it whenever I need too. I use my trap opening. Hope this will be of some help. ---------- Fly High and Roll On Paul

Rollernutz have a look at what I have... I should have made a triple.
I used theose simpson strong tie corners and screws.. this works well, all you do is cut to lenght and screw.
this box is 28" deep, 44"wide,38" tall in front. 40" tall in rear, the door is 24" wide x 29" tall with a screen door. their are 21 pirches I have a solid floor.
things I will change soon.. put in a wire floor with catch tray. install 4" redwood bevel siding. also install a trap door with a deck.
I hope this info helps you..

If you dont go with the screened bottom you might want to put some vents along the bottom edge. personally I dont like screened bottoms becouse of mice and rats attracted to the spilled feed. keepem spinin Don p,s nice job!!

The 20 Bird Kit Boxes should be only 30" in depth so you can reach the birds easily. These 20 bird kit boxes are 48"X48"X28" or 48" wide, 48" tall in the front & 28" deep. Use 1" sqaure wire on the floor so almost all the dropping will fall through.
I have 1 kit box with 35 perches and it is 48" deep, too hard to reach a bird in back.
See Tony for the perches, they work good & clean easily.
