Hey Nick,
When I visited with you, you had a fly scheduled, how did it go?

Hey Snake,
Look near the bottom of page 3 "Fall Fly Experience 2007". I didn't do well; can't blame the birds, just some crappy loft management and stupid decessions on my part.
Pretty well humilated.....something that non-competitors never feel and something they should.

I like that your selling the competitin part of flying your rollers. But do you realy think the back yard flyer has to fly in a competition to get humilated. Well i dont agree with you, Any one thats been around roller for awhile know that one they they can look like shit and the next day look like world beaters.. I have had my taste of competition fly in the 70s it became a job, now im 70 years olds and i dont need another job i just want to injoy my birds in my own back yard.

al,
My point is that there is no one in your backyard that is going to tell you that your birds or your management program sucks. None of your friends or family is going to tell you that your birds are junk.
What is going to move your lofts forward?
Flying without competing for me (again, for me) is like playing golf without scoring. You can play and enjoy it, but will you ever get better (better, really)? You compete against par by yourself or you can play with others and really get the adrenlin going.
I enjoyed my birds without competing; by competing my joy has encrease 10 fold because I am sharing my joy with a larger group of people.
I am not saying those that don't want to compete are wrong; I am just saying that for me I am getting more out of it than when I was not competing.
