I have had birds for more than 50 years.....I kept to my self much of those years. As an adult I was stupid enough to be a manager and worked too many hours and did too much intertaining of clients. Did not take the time to compete with my rollers.
I should have worked less and should have competed from the early days on more. I probably would not had a stroke; would not be suffering from heart failure; would not have had diabetes; would have been much happier. How do you tell a young man to make him understand he owes it to his family and to his own life not to do the crap I did? That doing something just for yourself is also important?
I went to my 45th class reunion (the only reunion I ever went to) and many of us have a life now crowded with "should of's" and "could of's". We have lost 22 class mates who have died (we had about 129 who graduated with us) and my best friend from school could not make it because he is too sick with cancer. I never told him that I love him because that is not what guys say to one another. I called him to see if I could visit to tell him I love him and he was not at home. Damn, we got to say those things. It means so much to both parties.
Sorry about this.......but, you guys who do not compete you might want to rethink it. There is a lot to learn about yourself; your birds; the breed; and your fellow roller nuts.

Hey Nick0, hope it all well with you. You are totally right about enjoying ourselves in life, it is short,If I may add to this ,it is best to hold no grudges to anyone if possible,we may never have the chance to see or talk to that someone again, so guys call that person you have been wanting to talk, to before it's to late.
Peace Out

When you were born, you were crying while everyone around you was smiling! Try to live your life, so when you die, your smiling and everyone around you is crying!
For what its worth, you've brought a smile to my face more times than you can imagine Nick!
I'm glad your with us here at RPDC! Hope tomorrow is a brighter day for ya bud! ---------- Val

Nick; I'm betting your friend already knows that you love him. Maybe you could give him a card and write inside it all the things of your heart that you are unable to say. Al

Nick, I just turned 60 this year and I am sure there are a lot of things I should have done. As you are going along you really don't know it.
One thing I have tried to tell my children is that these companies that you work for are not your life, your family is your life. Unfortunately I did not set a good example and was a workaholic like you were.
I believe in giving the company 100%; however, that's it. Forget that bending over backwards stuff. They really don't care.
I have not been able to convince 2 of my children of that, I think the other 2 got it. Guess what, they are all successful anyway. If I could only covince the other two so they could enjoy life more.
I hear you, I understand, do it correctly from now on is all we can do.
Yours in the sport, Richard

Nick We all have something from the past that haunts us, but that shouldn’t stop us from enjoying what we have today. Don’t rob your self of the joy you get from competing now, by the regrets of not doing it sooner. Nick wake up and smell the coffee, don't make me go over there and kick your ass lol.Duane
