I thought youd mever ask? You might find them down in Los Angeles. I got my 1351 stud around 1980 and they are pure as the day is long. That is a old hiiibiiy saying and it still is true today in my loft. I plan on taking pictures this year for my web-site and this site. My mealy bar family pictured in the Pensom book shell out feather footed stock too. The pedigree papers show they are closely related. I bred some youngsters from them this year in several colors that will ne shown too. There are lot of feather footed rollers in the Jaconette family in the USA that go back to the original lavender and mealy bar family. There are lot of them in Missouri but they were bred different from the original stock. A roller breeder with this family has to be extra selective in pairing up his stock because the rolldown factor is trmendous. Recently i saw a local flyer release a young bird kit and three rolled down immediately from different heights. This has been going on for many years in Missouri and we can only wish them better lick. Ken Billings put a picture of one of my black self feather footed rollers on this site that is pure 1351. Lot of our clean legged lavender rollers go back to the same family. Best regards,Ray

Lionel - There is lots of 1315 blood in Southern California. 1315 was a Smith pigeon. Most of the blood that you will find close may have a little 1353 which is also Smith.

What up Lionel,
are you planing on flying with us next year? It get's pretty bad with the bop when we start so you may want to hold on to those future champs of yours as your going to need as many as you can to keep a kit going....
By the way my brother Dave asked if you're still burning the meat patties when you bbq?
Late, Efren
What up Spank. Hows your kit working? Sounds like your getting hit hard. I've been holding them down around 2 days after I get hit and I've only lost 2 these last 2 weeks.

wow it shur sounds funny hearing some one ask about muffed birds i remember years ago most people didnt want anything to do with muffed birds for some reason they were under the impression muffed birds didnt roll, well i think over the the years that outlook has changed some of the fastest birds id ever seen were at williewrights, and thurmond davis house the old 1315,1353 stuff which were pretty much the same stuff from smith i know sam guitierez had a lot of the 1315 stuff ive talked to him many times and compared paperwork and found out he has a few birds on my pedigrees so you might want to contact him

PS I happen to love muffed rollers. If I get one out of the air working, it's finding it's way to my loft.

Quickspin - The hen I gave Spanky is a spread ash red (Lavender). For some reason the photo I see is a little blury but it does look like a Lavender also. What color are the parents? Either both are lavenders or one is a red checker and the other is a black.

The bird is a lavender: Spread ash red bar. Those aren't muffs, there slippers. Muff stick out a couple of inches from the toes and completely remove the foot from view.
