I joined in on this site about three weeks ago.I read alot of the past posts and realized that there was a few subjects not to expound on, but I can truely say that the people that have the run of this site are a bunch of (Moderated). think I am wrong look at the past post that newbie posted. I looked back on their post to find it gone. whats the matter afraid of looking bad? you guys that think you know everything there is to know about the true roller should think again. some of us have got 20 or thirty years of knowledge on most of you. You will stand still while the rest of us move forward. first lets look at the make up of the roller. tipler 4 diffrent color genes. tumbler 7 different color genes. Oreintal roller 9 different color genes. and so on and so on. so looking at it the way you insist on looking at the three basic colors and the four basic patterns this way you are only working with only a part of the real roller makeup. all the photo's look great but not a great roller to look at. also the videos show birds fliPpin but no spinners in sight. also rollers when flying in a kit should fly like a bunch of grapes and roll as one. if you have not seen this in your kit than you are not in keeping with the true roller, I dont care how well your birds are bred. it dosn't matter what color the birds are as long as they are good kitters and real spiners that stay with the kit and roll with the kit as a teem. if you stay with real spinners the odds are you will get more spinners and they will look like rollers on their own. not thick necked and posin for the camera. they should prove themselfs in the air. when a new guy comes to you so called exspierenced roller guys you should repect the guy and help him on his way.who knows he may teach you somthing. Hey Don, I just barely caught your initial post to start this thread.
Your post appears to make you seem very angry and accusatory, yet you haven't spoken to me once about any problems you may have with what is or isn't allowed on this site. This is the first I learned about any problem you have.
Rather than argue over my posting policy in public, how about you call me and let's talk it over.
I am sure it is simply a misunderstanding. I have not removed any posts nor has the Moderator recently sent me a removed post that has violated the Posting Policy (excepts yours, it has now been put back up after the Moderator and I spoke).
As for missing posts by I think you mean: deadendkid; this young mans uncle contacted me several days ago and said he understood that his nephews posts were violating the posting policy and that he would have his nephew remove them.
So, if they are removed, it was probably the kid himself who removed them.
As for topics not to be discussed, we can discuss color or that the Birmingham Roller is a BREED; we have all been there done that, and are tired of chasing each other over it. You may not get many takers...

So Don, With ALL of the pictures posted, there are NONE that would satisfy your tastes? That kinda makes me want to go back thru ALL of my posted threads with MY birds that I have posted, and remove them all, because they fail to meet your STRICT criteria of what a TRUE SPINNING ROLLER looks like. I guess from now on when we post a picture of our birds, we will get your pre-approval.. Thick necked?..I am done!
One last thing...There are more typo's in your post than a 1st grader!..Learn to proof read..That seems to be a habit here with some.

Hey Jerry instead of throwing stones at one another why don't we talk amongst each other and work out our differences???
By the way what is your idea of a TRUE SPINNER?

Don,
You made some good points and many of them I agree with. It also smacks of a "goodbye" letter and I hope that I misread that. I enjoy what you have to say and you are a good "fit" for this site. So, tell me that you haven't gone away....please.

Hey All and Don, just for the record, discussing color in rollers, crests, peaks, grouse leggs, muffs, is all fine to do on this site.
Be aware that not everyone will agree with your views, it IS okay. It does not mean that there is no merit to your view.
Just use persuasive responsible language to make your point/s and let others make up their own minds as to what they want to buy into.
Don't go away because someone disagrees with you and is willing to say so. That I let both views stay up does not mean I am necessarily supporting one view or the other, it is just this IS a discussion board and all reasonable topics and views deserve to be heard. ---------- FLY ON! Tony Chavarria

no I havnt run off but havnt changed My veiws.I have had the plesure to know two of the greatest breeders of late both have past on. one got killed by a drunk on his day of glory. the other died of old age just a few year back. with what little time I got to spend with them I learned more in that short time then any time reading and playing with with my own birds. both of these men were kind enough to let me handle some true spinners. these birds were so small and light you would think that you couldnt throw them across the room let alone fly. they also gave me tips on feeding. how much is more importence than what and never change the what or you would lose them. I do fly kit birds year round. becouse if you lock them up thy lose there abily to get back in shape. it would be like asking a cross contry runner to quit running for a year then pick up where he left off. it just dosnt happen. Ive also found that if I up a a bird that was a breeder for a few years they dont cut it with the team. I really miss chating with those old guys. mostly dick that lived only 45 min from me. sorry if I got under some of you guys skin. but Iam still upset with the way the newbie got scared off by saying he wanted to try color.and that doing so would ruin the breed. I have brown blue and ash red with diffrent factors I dont breed for the colors but the spin and I chose this family becouse they are better bird than what I had it just happed that way when picking breeders from the air before I realized it all the birds in my breeding program was from this family.also you should not beable to see the wings or count how may time it turns over as for pics kit birds should not look so heavey breeders will look that way with time. just my thoughts and mine alone. Keepem spinin Don
