What kind of tools or different types of items are in your loft?? This is a ruler I cut up to measure Keel length, it woks pretty good. Feel the start of the keel & the keel end & you can hook it on the start, mark the end with your thumb. This gives a good reference for checking the birds’ keel.

Main tool in my loft is 4" wide and a 12" wide drywall putty knife for scraping poop. Nice looking setup there Robert. ---------- Kelly

First of all you need to patend it and manufactor a few and sell. Protect your idea.
Second: what length are you looking for; your desired length? And, why is that length desirable?

My ruler can double as a pooper scooper. This is only to give you a good reference between the birds. I think you need to breed the smaller keeled rollers with spin together to get faster birds. I like a 2" to 2 3/8" keel on the hens & 2 1/4" to 2 1/2" on the cocks. The Black bird is out of a pair of Ruby Rollers and it spins fast, only got to fly it this year & stocked it, the other black cooper got & I didn't want to lose this one. I have only gotten 2 blacks from my Ruby Rollers.
I didn't event this tool, just seen one and tried to improve on it and show everyone. To get one you have to make it. Just like we do with the birds, they already spin we are just trying to get better spinners, continuous improvement.
Now if your breeding Racers the longer Keel the better.
My hand & a pen doubles as a palm pilot, that would have been nice to patent, at least the pilot.
