These are my Navarro birds I will be using this year in my breeding program. I am hopefully looking to get two more hens from Juan as one of my "hens" as we thought would turn out to be, actually turned out to be a cock, Note they look alot better in person and even better in the hand. I dont know how Milo or Steve does it, they're gurus at it! my patience ran thin trying to them posed lol.

ICRC 1078, he was supposed ot be paired to 1036 when thought to be a hen lol.

This pair is the pair I won from the CSRA auction. Both birds were bred from Kevin Brokenbough and are from his number 1 team. They are also Navarro based birds.

Thanks for the compliments everyone. Im really looking forward to working with these birds. I researched long and hard for 6 months for the right family of birds as well as rollerman to start off again with. Im glad Juan gave me an opportunity to work with his birds. The quality of his birds and the knowledge and passion he has for the roller sport made my final decision. I've been back in the roller game for 5 months now, just raising these birds and its feels great. Im outside for an hour or two a day feeding, bathing, and plain ol' enjoying them, it definitley temporarily relieves the stresses of life. I wonder how long ill be outside once I start breeding and flying them!

Milo, im not sure of the exact background of 203 and 21 but am working on getting a record on them.

I`d be interested to see the young from 1039 and 1008. They just look like a good pair to me. Although all the birds look nice, I also agree with Milo`s pick, 1078. Thats a real good looking badge...

thanks rolando!

Hey Joe Dan, under the circumstances I had for this past breeding season. I am happy with what im seeing. this is my first year back into rollers and its been great. Its been a long hiatus from the hobby so im getting everything back on track. I was only breeding from three pair and added an additional fourth during the breeding season, with minimal fostering. I realized I should have miaximized fostering with that amount of birds. Settling birds of different ages definitly brings down the development of spin from the older birds. Living in Southern California does help either with the BOP situation. This season will be a different story as I have a large breeding team with some quality birds...now they just have to prove it. I wont have a problem with numbers every round. Now its up to my management and pairing, but I think ive honed it down just right. Some birds took longer to come into the roll than I like, but overall im very satisfied. The Quality of spin and Speed are second to none. I would though like to add a bit more frequency to these birds, but im sure I can work that within the family. Its only been my first year so im still trying to figure out whats producing what. Overall I am very satisfied with these birds.

thanks jessie, i will keep you updated, you do the same. is that Black self or was that a black check Arnold Jackson bird you showed at the MPRC show the cock your focusing your breeding program around he sure was a looker. How was he in the air? I really like the muff hen as well, ill update some pics of them, they really have matured since then. I never flew her as Juan recommended me to just try them out in the breeding pen. He has flown her siblings and they tend to spin on the deep side 40-45'. The young I have flown out from her are speedballs.

thanks Sundance, Ill try and post a pic of a cock I have from that pair. Unfortunatley I had no luck with them, I just couldnt keep them in the air. The birds that came into the roll were looking real good. 20-40 hard spinning birds. But with that the BOP Loved them. That pair threw al types of colors whites, grizzles, torts, black checks, lavenders, badges...you name it.

hey Robert, im really glad I made the decision as well, im actually glad he gave me the opportuniy. I wanted something with the quality I used to see back in the day. the SPEED and Quality of spin. This family has it all but with a competitive edge. Wow you're working with the Old school stuff! I Love the Type and expression of his old stuff. I will take a classic black check self any day! You're right about the temperment, you dont see the same in many other families. Do you have an email address?
