Since I posted pictures of my Navarro Birds, which is the main family ill be working with. I decided to post pictures of the second family ill be working with. They are Higgins/Antonio Mitchell. I was lucky enough to meet a very kind a generous rollermen by the name of Ricardo Gallegos late last month at the MPRC show. I believe his username is cardo2s here on RPDC. He offered me a couple pair and extra bird to get me started back in the hobby. You just cant beat that. I cant wait to get these birds breeding, and their young flying. Thanks again Ricardo!

This hen to be paired to the cock above. The cock is a 30ft and the hen is a 10-15ft real tight spinner.

20 footer cock.

this is RC 521, a 25 footer. We thought this bird was a hen, I come to find its a cock. I plan on pairing him with the young hen below foster a couple rounds if possible then put the hen on the other red mottle cock. I hope its a good idea.

this is a young bird I plan on breeding from when it matures out to the right age. It is a hen, luckily and still going through the moult, it still has much growing up to do.

Iceman you definely have some good looking Rollers to breed and fly. That red check cock id a dandy and will likely shell you out some good guality yougsters. The red mottle look like they go back to Rusty. Dave Sanchez had Rusty and his sisters in a judging cage the day I visited him many years ago. He said, Richard Jackonette was going to buy them. There are some red mottles in Misouri that go back to that same family. Bill Pensom sold Ralph Hilton red mottles and my family of red mottles are the same. They go back to the crystal palace cock MRS 25 #521. I visited Ralph Hilton in 1978 and handled and judged lot of his rollers including some red mottles and one black mottle. I did that for two days and came home with some guality rollers. Bill Pensom and Ralph Hilton were great promotors in the breed and responsible for many roller fanciers to obtain great breeding stock. Ray

Thanks for the compliments everyone. All the credit goes to Ricardo as he's the one who raised and flew out all these birds. I agree Milo, I like the build on these as well, compared to the navarros they are alot more typier. Thanks Ray for the tid bit of history, im sure everyone enjoys hearing them as I do. I cant wait to get these birds going and see what they put out, guess I just have to fly hard and cull harder.

Iceman710,

Nice birds I love those Higgens. I have some Hiltons that look just like your red mottles. The Hiltons I have pair and four of six of thier young are going to breed for me next year. I am really impressed with the birds

Hey Gary, I'm sure they look even better now that they have had time to mature. That stock comes in about 4 to 6 months in the 15 to 25 ft. range.
Good Luck and Keep Them Spinning.
