Well, folks I have had an experience today, I would have never anticipated.
I was feeding my birds, handeling and playing with them, and a lady??? and 2 little guys ride up on their bikes from the field road near by, not sure where they actually came from.
They were real taken with the birds when my two English cockers come running up, the lady??? starts giving me what for about the condition of my dogs, she thinks I'm starving them because their ribs show very slightly.
Fortunately my brain kicked in before my Marine Corps mouth and all I said was, "Lady, have you ever seen a fat man run?" These Cockers are field bred bird dogs, not biscuit eaters.
There isn't another house for a quarter mile in any direction, I have watched with interest what y'all have said about the eye-appeal of the loft and kit boxes for sake of the neighbors.
I'll probably get a visit from the County Beautification Committee because I'm not policeing up all the feathers.
Hope I don't pop a head gasket.
I guess I just needed some experience with self-control today!

Good luck with that nosey neighbor, Snake. Not too many women understand an animals conditioning. Most think if they keep on eating ,they must still be hungry. I`ve had to tell my wife to not feed the animals so much a few times. My best friend said it best. To an animal, food is the only god they no. It is their primary tool for survival. ---------- Butch @ Sundance Roller Lofts

I've always gone by the old adage "A fat dog is in the eye of the owner"
Just hope she doesn't show up when I get to the Yo-Yo with the birds.

Maybe we will get some rain and they won't be able to come down the field road.
One thing about Enlish Cockers and Labs, they just aren't very threatening.
Hope I'm not turning into a grumpy "Old" man!

SD.... too many people have entirely too much time on their hands. I get approached by people the same way if Iam training a dog when walking around the neighborhood. They always are first to comment on my training methods. Which by the way are NOT cruel to the dog. I've been training dogs for over 30 years now. I just say" Is that a fact?" And go about my business. And leave them standing their. Most of the time I just IGNOR peoples comments and keep on walking. ---------- Fly High and Roll On Paul

Hi S.D. I have had Fox hounds, Beagles &bird dogs that i competed with over the last 60 yrs. I have no patience with people nor the animal welfare people & consequently they get told WELL. they just do not understand what an animal that competes in a game that requires physical energy should looks like. However i think you used the right strategy asi am from the old school an eyefor an eye. Good Luck Bob in Ontario
