Victor, I'm surprised no one has stepped up to answer your inquiry. By ACV I believe you refer to Apple Cider Vinegar? I am going to assume that your bird is otherwise a healthy specimen. But to be on the safe side, I would isolate that bird especially if other birds in the loft are not experiencing the same malady. Do you use probiotics in your water? How often? If not, then start. That is the simplest and fastest way to upgrade your birds health. It improves and maintains the natural bacteria essential to digestion. The more "good" bacteria, the better chances of fighting off "bad" disease causing bacteria in your loft. Another suggestion is to use a loft sulphur dressing to the litter in your loft. It will keep unwanted bacterial numbers down. Another question would be to what extent do you use pelletized feeds? That is going to loosen up the stools. Another query would be when was the last time you wormed your birds? If your bird is doing fine, maintaining weight, still has that lustre to his feather and is active, I would then consider sending a bowel specimen to a lab for analysis. Pigeons are a fickle lot. When under stress, their stools will come out towards the greenish and runny side. Stress can come in many forms, anything from constant moving, as in show season, to disease, to a new loft, you name it. In many instances disease will take your bird before it actually displays symptoms. That is one reason to handle birds daily to determine diffences in weight, health, feather lustre, etc. Once you know what a healthy bird feels like, you will instantly recognize a stressed bird just by handling it. But as I said,by the time it displays those symptoms, it may be too late. Notice I did not tell you to start pumping antibiotics into your bird. That seems to be the average reaction of many fanciers. If you have viral problems, then bacterial solutions(antibiotics) only weaken the birds digestive tract making it more susceptible to the viral infection. Gregg.

diamond, I use two days of a vitamin supplement, three days of probiotics and two days of plain water. Sometimes a bit more often on the probiotics depending on the birds droppings. Works for me. Gregg.
