In 2008 I am going to down size my breeding pairs. I am also going to use a "bull in the ring" set up with two cocks and six hens. I will foster the eggs out to my current breeders. In 2009 I do not plan on breeding at all unless something drastic happens.

Two, best young hen to it's father and best young cock to it's mother. I will also use birds raised this year as fosters and a hold over kit to fly this spring. Everything else, stew pot.

I have too many pairs,i like them all and are haveing trouble deciding wich once to get rid of.
All the birds stocked rolled very good ,or are birds given to me and have produced real nice roll.i have too many birds going on 10,plus years so i need to get rid of some old birds,i have one at 19 years old,not fertil but its a original Frank Lavin,so how do i get rid of birds like that.

I have 32 breeding departments. Started with 20 but couldn't keep a kit up so made 12 more. Breed hard this year as it was my first year back in the hobby. Don't think I will breed 32 in 08 but that all depends on the BOP's.

Hi Guys

I plan on breeding 16 pairs again this year. The time is cut way back by not messing with the watering. I banded a little over 200 birds and have about 50 left today, BOP Mr Cooper got the rest. Got hit by 3 BOPs today and only lost 1 bird.

I have 10 left in my A-Team but did stop flying them.

I have 26 pairs down as we speak. Most of the blood line is Paul Gomez of Southern Cal. I have to breed alot of birds because of the bop issue that we have in California.

Between 8 and 10 pairs.

For the past few years I have left them paired up all breeding season to the same mates, but this coming season, I plan on re-pairing half way through to see how different pairings click.

I THINK IT REALLY DEPENDS ON THE SIZE OF YOUR LOFT
AND THE SPACE YOU HAVE.THIS ALSO DEPENDS ON THE TIME
YOU HAVE AND HOW MANY KITS YOU WILL FLY. I HAVE 20 PAIRS
MOST OF THEM ARE THE CONTINENTAL FAMILY OF TOM HATCHER
AND DICK SYEPHENS AND I PLAN TO FLY 4 KITS.
