Noticing the and video's of the BR in action the wings of some of these birds start the roll with the wings down and keep it that way. If the wing postion that we talk about the no wing showing ,A -wing style,H-pattern X-pattern,and the oar pattern. What about this pattern(wing down)? Observing the start of my BR'S today I noticed they started the roll with the wings up. I wonder if you guys have noticed this on the vid's? What do guys think or can give some feed back R-LUNA

Richard, I do not really like looking at the videos because you really cannot see the quality of the roll o the birds! I do see all kind of wing positions A,H,X, and the one that really kills me straight out!LOL

Thanks gotspin for your input but wait till you the videos of the birds with ther wings totally down. I think that gives the illussion, or it is of a,really open roll and loose at that. R-LUNA

Gotspin7, yes I have seen them on youtube also, as their turning look at wing postion,I have looked at snap shots also. You know what kills me is that their used for breeding to produce more like that.

Hi Greed! Unless you get really lucky, it's difficult to get an accurate assesment of a roller in action via video. I've seen a couple but they usually focused on individuals and not the kit. Also, the initial stroke before the roll is always a downward stroke. If it appears as though it's starting at the bottom, the reality is that the bird has to raise it's wings above body level to get started. The level that the bird raises it's wings to of course depends on the bird. Also the amount of strokes a bird does between spins depends on the bird, but they have to stroke to continue the revolutions, especially if they have any speed or depth to them at all. Hey Greed, I haven't been by there in a while, how are the birds?

Hi Al, I hope it is all well with you. I know that the birds dont always start with the wing down because I have watched and watched and watched and observed, the wing starts with them being up and then adjusting to whatever style they maintain. I believe it's the muscle in the wing and back.(my thought),
