Mixed grain, 12%. Small corn, milo, wheat & peas. They like it and I try to feed them all they will eat without losing control of them.
Not much more then that this year. Maybe I will change it up a little next year since I will have some holdover birds, but thats all I did this year.

Good luck Hardtime!! I suggest that you print that post and keep it for your records. Also do a search on Paul Fulerton and look for his comp feeding program also. You are not going to go wrong with those two methods.

I feed mine 16%, I will try some new methods next year! I do not like messing with them (with the feed) when they are to young!

Most fliers have their way of feeding that works for their birds.
I am one that keeps it simple for the most part. I use a 12% mix for all kitbirds, regardless of age, and use 16% for breeders.
I feed grit to kit birds once weekly. I fly my birds daily for the most part, depending on how they are doing. I have flown my A team every other day for the past week, and see a difference in fly speed, fly time, and performance.

My 2 younger kits get flown daily, sometimes twice daily.

I control flying/performance with feed amount versus feed grains.

Again, use what works for your birds, as there are no single standard that will work for everyone.
