Kenny.I didn't just start raising rollers.90 seconds is a long way off from every few seconds.Try holding your breath for a few seconds then hold it for 90 seconds.Big difference. What about the rest of what you said? David

Dave,
Get real man,the NBRC is a competetion based club. The whole purpose of the club is to put on a fly every year. The convention is more of an overall BR event. Do consider that 99% of the lofts visited during the convention are competetion flyers. It is a competetion oriented sport regardless of what you think and I know you want to defend your position, but I don`t care. Do what you want. I have my opinion and you have yours I am not gonna go over every sentance if my post so you can try to rank me. If the new guys wannt raise muffed crested birds let em. It`ll just make it easier for me to win the FF. Let`s not retread the" Dual Purpose Roller".

Kenny.Get real? You are the one that got off topic with what we were discussing. We were talking about Pure Birmingham Rollers not the NBRC and Competition.

When you said these traits were what the Purist frowned upon from the original standard at what point from the original standard did someone say that Muffs,Crests,Color, etc was not allowed?
Forget about trying to convince the newcomer.Convince me.LOL. David

What we are talking about is not the origal post...start a new thread guys...lol.

I know what you are saying about some "people" saying things about others birds when they have not seen them in person.

I myself...tell people what I have heard from other who have seen a certain persons birds...or I just say that I do not know...never seen them.

To be honest...even standing under a persons kit a couple of times does NOT tell me how good or bad there brids are... but seeing them alot will tell me....because my kits have had bad and good days...and if someone sees them on a bad day a couple of times...they can say the birds suck..get my point.

The fact of the matter is that some have good birds and some do not....one must always remember that "some" fanciers have a gift to get strains for families to tear it up and you can take those same birds home and can't get them to do shit.

I know because I have done it...I have stood under Scott Campbells kits and seen some damn good birds. But when I took some of his birds home...they would were not consistant with me....does that mean his brids suck.>>HELL NO>>>because when they were on.;..there was nothing more beautiful...they just were did not work for me and my style of management.

Anyway...the fact is...you can't judge a book by its cover and you for sure can't say someones birds suck if you have not seen them..and you sure as hell can't say someones birds suck even if you have flown them....it is 80% the fancier and 20% the birds.

The best judge of someones birds is consistancy and seeing them at there best and worst...that can tell you a lot.

Case closed...LOL

ALL of us need to have a mini-convention and talk about it.......Im still a rookie and learning every day
I still cant figure out why there is a problem with color, muffed.crest etc..........as long as they kit and roll together im happy...just my 2 cents
I had plenty of advice from here from;

Rudy.We really don't need a mini convention to talk about it.From the very first page(167 I think) we were discussing these very things. And there is many times in between 167 and 1 that we discussed it.Same ole things just we get bored sometimes and someone will bring it up again.LOL. David

Paul.Only back for a couple days.LOL. Got about 4 weeks of Hunting to do yet then I will be able to spend more time on the computer.Weather is getting to bad to do much outside anymore.
The Mort birds didn't work out for me.I am using the breeders for fosters.I flew 2 kits of them out and never really could get a handle on them.I swear them birds could survive on a grain of wheat a day.LOL.Later,David
