Hi Steve,
I was set to go but I started coughing up a bunch of crap about 3:00 am and decided that it would not be right to jump in a van with the guys and get them all sick. IM BUMMED.....I here Norm has some good birds up right now and it would have been fun to go hang out with everybody, pick Norms brain and just enjoy the day.

I think my house is directly in the center of the BOP highway.. they zoom this way and zoom that way and always give a poor soul a ride..
other than that all is well.. the fires are aprox 35 miles away.. but you can see the smoke

Our County just sent out a Strike team about an hour ago....that is 5 Engines and one Chief.....The Engines were from Davis, Woodland, Rumsey, Capay Valley and Yolo fire depts......
Our Engine wich is an OES (Office of Emergency Services) Just left too...to meet up with 4 other OES Engines...I believe from Sacramento City, South Placer, North Tahoe, El Dorado and Our Engine from UC Davis.
I did not have to go this time....My turn was last time...
Let make sure we pray to keep our guys safe....

Well I was in hopes all the fires smoke would drive the B.O.P. down south or back some whare, but no luck we are still in lock udown in my part of So Cal tred to fly after the fire put 6 up 2 lost in in just seconds I know Hector has it bad as the lastime I was at his place we had to dodge B.O.P. as they almost hit us chasing after the birds please pray so many have lost their homes

Still unable to fly, we just went to the loft and the BOP come running in hope we will feed them a few rollers. If we don’t fly they just sit on the loft and scare- um to death.
I have lived in canyon Lake and the Elsinore area FOR OVER 20 YEARS but never have seen it this Bad, Paul Platt’s had problems 20 years ago but no one else had any major problems, paul always felt that the white birds he was breeding just attracted more hits and if he lost 1 a month it was bad, but now it just doesn’t matter its like a shark feeding frenzzzzzzzzzzzzzzy. They come in groves of pairs Coopers, then Red tails and even a type I don’t know, one hit right after another, within 3 minutes the kit is a mess with 2 to 5 rollers every flight killed, injured, or chased out of town and Eaten. But we just keep trying.

That is your problem...no disrespect...but you keep trying to fly and you also keep trying to feed them. YOu keep feeding them...they will never go away.
If the BOP are on your loft....SO WHAT>..the birds are scared...but they are not dead......You know why the BOP is on your loft...because he knows that you will let them out soon so he can eat....I bet the BOP is holding a knife and fork and has a napkin around its neck......
I Guarantee if you lock down your birds for 1 month the hawk will move on...IT HAS TO>>...no food for him.....
That is what it is...we all say...I am going to keep trying to fly.....The fact is we will all have a loss here and there...that is a fact...but a loss everyday..is our fault....
Yesterday...I was going to fly...my birds were locked up for 3 or 4 days....Well..There was a coopers..sitting on a lamp post on my street so.....NO I DID NOT LET OUT A CULL KIT and feed the little bastard.....I did not fly....flew this morning...and not a problem at all....
Please don't tell me that I dont understand....that hawks are bad where you are....they are bad where I am too...youjust have to fly smart....My fall fly...I was hit by a Falcon and Hawk at the same time...so I have had my losses too..you just have to fly smart..

They`ve lost a lot of habitat for feeding they are very hungry. Now is the time to lock down and make em move on. Get em back on the cyle so to speak.
