Paul - This bird was bred by Richard Parra. It would be out of the Lester Lehmeyer background.

Laron, Thanks A LOT..!!! I got that bird from Aubrey Sinclair. He didn't want to sell it, but I guess I caught him when he needed a little cash or something.. It was the spitting image of one that Pensom gave me and said that "it rolls like a bull". The one I got from Penson DID too.... Now I guess I have to get in touch with Richard Parra. Does anyone have his contact info? I saw him fairly recently. Paul

Paul - I was looking for the pedigree on your bird. I thought I had it from some of my old information. I will call you and give you Richard's phone number. If you cannot get all of the information from Richard I will work on the pedigree information for you. It is good to have someone else who knows what a true spinner is an appreciates one. So many of the guys now only want to mock and scorn and not really understand the true birmingham roller.

So am I reading roller bands incorrectly or are people "recycling" old bands? I, personally, have a living, breathing racing pigeon that wears a solid band from 1987, and I have been able with great difficulty to determine who bred my bird, and the bird is truly soon to be 21 years old .. I've had him for about 13 years now. The person who bred my bird is deceased.
I do understand about tracing strains, but for someone to have bought two birds banded with very old bands doesn't sit or sound right to me. Incidentally, I have spoken to the folks at this Black Smith Corner place about some birds reported to 911 Pigeon Alert. They were both rude and uncooperative.
Rudy/RXR .. I think somebody put some very old bands on the birds you bought .. thus .. there is no way to know what you actually got. JMO

hey terry, I dont think anyone recycles them, they just want to find out the lineage of some of their old birds. Just some good to know info, and a definite filling of some missing links to their family of birds.

TAWhatley - Paul just wanted to know what his old foundation bird was out of. There are holes on every pedigree out there at one point or another.
Rudy - Hopefully someone from the CPRC can address the one you are inquiring about.

Hey Terry, my daughter briefly worked at Blacksmiths in Lakewood, CA and being an animal lover, she was NOT very impressed with the way the animals were treated and management treated employees. Nuff said. ---------- FLY ON! Tony Chavarria

Thanks for the clarification .. sorry I was confused about what was being asked. Also sorry to learn that things may not be so good for the birds and animals at Blacksmith's Corner.
