I use 1"X4" common lumber.cut the vertical peices 32" long or whatever length your kitbox is high, and the horizontal ones 8" long.leave 3" at the bottom and measure 8" and mark where each horizontal one will go on the verticals.i use 1 1/4" drywall screws and my screwgun to put 'em together.predrill the holes on the verticals so they don't crack with the screws.paint them before you install them leaving 1/2" gap between the perches and the box wall to allow crap to fall when scraping. ---------- Kel.

I use 1x4 for the up and down boards any lenght your box is and then I put three or four together and lay them on a table saw and cut 3in. threw the board, at 8in apart then slide 3in wide lueon base board in the slots of the table saw. that leaves a 1/2 space next to the wall. ---------- Tall Pine Lofts

tou, you need to get the WH Pensom book ( shown on this page at the upper left) In this book you will find a lot of good information about breeding boxes, perches, feeding & more.. I have one and refer to it all the time.
The book can be ordered from Tony on this site.
It is good that you ask questions… most people are afraid to

Tou, if you want to make some money quick go and ask your neighbors if you can wash their cars for a few $$ or cut their grass or clean their yard. Make sure you tell them that you are building a project. They will be more than happy to help you. Don't be afraid to go to as many as you can after school every day and in no time, you will have about $100 or more.
Ask your neigbors or relatives if they have tools that you can borrow to do the job and make sure to take them back whay are done and show them that you appreciated their help. Even if you need some nails or screws, most people have some laying around the house that they can give you some. Be creative kid.
Once your dad see what you are doing to care for your birds he will become more supportive and will help you along. Especially when he sees that your love of the birds keeping you out of trouble and in your own backyard. If your dad don't show support just let him know that they are keeping you out of trouble and sticking around in the backyard. That works all the time even to us with our wives.
