i am thinking of building some individual breeder boxes does anyone know if 22wide x 24 deep x 14 high is to small
someone told me its inhumane to keep birds in such a small place they also said that the humane society might consider it cruel is it true the birds will hold thier crap longer becuase of the tight area they live in

These ones are only 14 I think, maybe less.Ya they'll hold there crap alright, and when they get out of the box, loookout,it'll be a big one.I have individuals but the birds are open loft once they lay the first round. You'll notice if they are allowed to fly free with the individuals, there won't be hardly any crap in there till the youngsters are about 10 days and are eating grains. The adults don't like to crap in their nest for sure.Even tho the price of those 8 compartment cages looks expens, they are cheaper than building good wire ones yourself.

The thing I like about the wire cages is you can see them real good in there.

Hey All, I have researched breeder cages and dog crates and
any other type of cage available online. Conclusion, Tony has the best deal I could find for the eight breeder compartment cage. My Christmas, from me, to me!!

Thom

P.S. Wife and kids also have a list of potential presents and there is not one tie or shirt!!!

Ralph,
Only just got the 2 pair of breeders last august. The one pair of blacks are on their third set of eggs now with 2 young in the nest 3 weeks old and 2 young on the perch about2 1/2 months old.The reds had one egg hatch but it died right away and they are setting again now.Haven't had the 2 young flying yet as there have been too many hawks around,so waiting till spring to test the skies with them.
I got these birds from Toronto and we're gonna be laying over there 8 hours next week on our way to Colombia for Christmas so the gentleman I received the birds from is picking us up at the airport to take us to see his birds and lofts should be interesting. Will beat hanging out in the airport all that time.
I'll let you know how they perform and how they react to the BOPs when I start flying them in the spring. Thanks for asking.

Oldfart I got the same breeding compartments as Tony
offers, plus I built one from a shipping crate with the same demensions another 8 compartment breeding cage. They both work very well for me.
