Guys:
I'm pleased to forward to you a relatively positive article about pigeons that makes NO mention of the hawk problem. It's from the New York Times. I could paste in the text here, but it probably works better if you can go to the NY Times site and see the article with the photographs. It's not about rollers, but at least it's about pigeons and isn't laced with discussions of hawks, disease, or neighbor objections.

Fellow fanciers the story about Pakistan and Indian pigeons made me think about when I lived in California. I had some friends that told me stories about the birds they raised in India and Pakistan. They said,they were larger than the Birmingham Roller and flew at a higher altitude. Long poles were used for landing and nest boxes attached so animals couldnt reach them Then ladders were used to inspect the nest for eggs and squabs. Those pictures of the birds back East could be the same they were telling me about. They put at least three pair of Birmingham Rollers in a kit box in the U,S.A. The young birds were kept in the same box so it was crowded until they sold some of the young or were lost to preditors. Ray
