Keith, One of those black grizzles is a full brother to this bird. They where bred off a full bro/sis mating. And they where 3/4 as well.

This is the full brother..... They are out of cprc-2233-05 & 2379-05. they are out of evrc-217-00 & cprc-806-03. Keith, This was the fastest black grizzle I raised. This one was in my FF kit. The red mottle was faster. I put her away early. She was to good to take a chance on loosing her.

Ray! Unfortunate when your best birds land after they been spinning there butts off trying to rest a bit before they enter the kit box. early and late fall is when they get pick off by the hawks, thats to me is the worst time. every year when i get a team together for the nbrc fall fly B.O.P. got worst with there hits. Ray, Nice birds, BUT...would that feathering on the red and blues chest be considered a feathering fault, as in feather quality?..Yea,yea,yea, I know, they say the fastest birds come back from flying like this, but if that is the case, you would see more of it, due to everyone here having fast birds.
I get it now and then, but kinda weird how it isnt the fastest birds I have doing it.
Just curious.

Jerry, You bring up a good point. You might remember the thread I started awhile back as, FAST SPINNER OR JUST BAD FEATHER QUALITY. This has always been a question I have asked as well. The birds I posted there where both A frame spinners and very fast. The red mottle I posted as the fastest bird of the year would not come down like that, but, she was not as frequent either. I do find that both these birds are softer in feather but the feather quality is still good. Here are a couple of photos of them now.

Ray,
I've seen those birds work and they are some good ones. If the feather quality is a fault in those birds then that's a fault that I would always welcome LOL. If it's a fault then there plenty of others that need to try to breed for that fault LOL. When they are in the air you can't tell if it's a fault or not. I'm breeding mine for the spin so if it's doing everything right in the air I could care less about a fault. The only time the fault thing comes up is in the show pen, well I thought the birds are preformance birds not show birds.Don't get me wrong if a birds looks good, feels good and performs well that's great. I still think it should be performance first and then all the rest. We all know that people talk about eye sign, expression ,feather quailty and all the other stuff. I'm sure that some one could find the perfect commie if they looked around on the streets long enough. It may have all the right traits but that alone want make it perform. Hey Ray just keep doing and keep them spinning.

I'm with john on that. Ray, you said it right soft feather not poor feather. There ar ethos that think blue and red ckrs don't have soft and that rec reds can have hard feathers. it all depends on how you breed them.(your family)
when flying and rolling i didn't see any faults.
ray, they did their thing in the air and look good on the ground.

Ray, Looking back, I do remember that thread. With that red mot. you stated did not come down like that, but was as fast if not faster than these 2, then my guess would be feather quality differences between them making the feathers spread like so. I am not quite certain it comes from the speed of the spin, versus the quality of feather...Your doing fine man.

I get alot of yearling birds come down looking that way and although they may be good workers they are not always the cream of the crop. I get very few that will look like that if they are into their second or third year. JMUrbon ---------- J.M.Urbon Lofts A Proven Family of Spinners http://www.freewebs.com/jmurbonlofts/
