I am on this site everyday faithfully. I noticed whenever someone post a picture of a bird, everyone says that the bird is nice. My question is, are we afraid to criticize someones birds. Is everybird someone post really a nice bird? No disrespect to anyone but I am in search for the perfect birmingham roller. I love them

My Mama used to say.."If you ain't got nothing good to say don't say nothing at all".I pretty much follow that advice unless they ask me what i think,or unless they REALLY ASK FOR IT!!

big willy styles now that you ask its true that some birds pictures dont look good but if i was to tell someone the truth that there bird looks like a rat then val the executioner would run me outta here so i just dont say nothing becuase the truth hurts brother

Why bag on someone else's work.
There are times that the truth needs to be told for the guys sake. But it can be done in good taste.

If the birds meets what my eyes see nice i tell you ..If it don't i stay quiet..beauty is in the eyes of the holder.what i see nice you see ugly.what i see ugly you see nice...but i'm not here to hurt anyone feelings but if you personally ask me then you get what you ask for,the truth..

HEHEHEHEHE, kid, you have more to worry about from me, not Val, he is a volunteer, he can quit anytime he wants but he won't because he is a man and he offered to help me out with a mostly unappreciated task.
I have tremendous respect for Val, none for nitpickers, naysayers, trolls and instigators.

HAH!!I'm a lousy photographer and the last one I posted of a real nice red checked bird nobody said shit.Almost deleted it.But,no,,I know it's a decent bird that's all that really matters.

maybe a good freind will tell them the truth meanwhile let them think that there birds look good and emberese themselves as long as it dont hurt there feelings then when someone one day tells them the truth they will get pissed and say knowone ever said nothing to me so i thought the birds looked good

talking about someones birds on this chat, is like telling
them that there woman is ugly, you just dont do it.
beauty is in the eyes of the beholder. if guys dont know what the true br is,its up to guys who do know to set the standard.if they dont get it we have to keep on moving forward. but i will say this, somebody has to step to the plate, on the ground and in the air.

There are some birds that we might not like but we don't know how good this ugly birds are. Just because it looks like a show bird doesn't mean is going to be a perfect roller.
It's better not to disrespect some ones bird so I rather have my mouth close.
You never know this ugly birds my kick my a##. LOL

You’ve all heard of the saying, don’t judge a book by it cover. Reading this thread reminds me of a story I read about a bird that Pensom called mouse, the bird was said to roll just as fast and tight as her Grandmother (514) but had the looks of a mouse. Pensom states that the bird weighed 6oz and was the ugliest bird he every saw. With that said,I feel our eye should be on the type of roll and not so much on the body type.

I agree,looks are one thing,performance is another, so if they ask ,it probably does look good, they are not asking about performance!two totally different subjects.

I agree with Luis. Everyone who posts pictures of their birds and took the time to go take them put them up for a reason, because they think highly of that bird. Remember this TO EACH HIS OWN. although you may not like it, someone else does! Why shoot a person down just because YOU dont like something about that particular bird. Constructive criticism is one thing and negative put downs is another. Remember we're all here to support each other and this wonderful hobby. Have fun guys!

Hey Luis are you sure we aren't BROTHERS...LOL. I can
remember my Mom telling me the same thing. I have to stick by Luis on this one..... Remember, a pic is just a pic.(they never do the subject an justice). All the birds look good. You really can't tell what a bird is capable of doing from a pic.

At first when I read your question my thoughts were, "You can like my bird or not like my bird but don't talk about him!"
Then, since I am so new to this, how will I ever know good from not so good if you guys don't tell me, so as far as I am concerned, "Take off the gloves, tell me the truth, please be specific, you can't put me mad or hurt my feelings."
Remember I'm the guy who didn't know a pair of birds I posted were "Racers" I thought they were just BIG rollers.

snake man it would be nice if guys were like you able to handle the truth nowdays most guys get offended real quik and then will label you a trouble maker and all sorts of things the best way to learn is from the truth even if the truth hurts

Hey guys what is this a pigeon show on the chat line,When a person put his birds on the a chat line he is showing what his birds look like. I seen guys birds that looks super and I have seen others on this here that just ok, bigwilly was saying uou guys say the same thing to every body, you are not judging a persons birds in the air, but what you see on this chat line, tell the person the truth his birds birds are not bad for kit but i have seen others kits posted that looked better, you don't have to bash a person but tell it like you see it!!

You look at a pix, the only thing that you can say is NICE Pix, for you know nothing of the roll, spin, you have to take the guys word to go with the pix. I take a lot of pix of cars, and you can make a bad car look good in a pix, I think the same thing with a bird. So you have to take the guys word for the bird.
