If you stated who your uncle was, you would have received many responses. I don't think being a director is a glorious job kid.

No Kid a job is any work you do. Whether it is a job you get paid for or volunteerism. Even raising rollers becomes a job most of the times. There are things that come attached to work which is the ugly side that will become apparent especially dealing with people. Can never satisfy everyone. Best of luck to George, he is a good man and used to chat with us a while back here on this site and others.

It is true kid. Now for the men whose wives are "house wives" and don't work outside the house to bring in money, do you think what they do is not a job. If you do, my advise to you is not to say that out lound in fornt of house wives because you will have an ear full.

Hey, he's 17 years old. I could never win a argument with my daughters when they were that age either! LOL
Hey kid, tell us the secret to breeding world cup champions while you still know it all! LMAO

I understand Tony. I am just trying to show him the other views in hopes he will use it while learning something new everyday. He is a sharp kid and I admire that in him.

From what I can see, the Kid already fly's competition, soaks everything he hears up like a sponge. He is years ahead of 95% of us when we where his age and will probably be a great competitor and breeder in the future. Something this hobby needs with so few young people wanting to get involved in flying rollers today. Yea he's a little ruff around the edges as far as the way he approaches things, but he already surpasses the knowledge of many roller-men out there today. ---------- Ray

An R/D life is a tough one. I have seen our R/D spend countless hours & money.
Many grumble & complain, but when it is time for a new R/D VERY few step forward for this position.
Most often the R/D looses money to help promote the club.

We just flew our 2nd time in WC as our own region. We have grown from a NBRC region that has struggled with 4 to 6 flyers and had to beg to fly with other regions to having 9 flyers this time. We also have 3 other flyers who planned to fly but couldn't for various reasons so we are proud of where we are at. We also have solidified our Las Vegas Roller Club group, held a very successful Tribute to Pensom Show this Feb., and we have 4 flyers who have finished top 15 in the NBRC Fall Fly finals. Our club and region was struggling with myself paying airfare on my own, gas, donations to clubs, whatever it took to fly with Utah or whatever region we could. When George Ruiz first moved here he quickly participated and settled his birds in 1 month to fly in the NBRC Fall Fly with us. I wasnt' enthusiastic about trying to revitilize the Las Vegas Roller Club, but I told George I would support his efforts to do so. Here we are 2 years plus later and we had our best fly ever, not score-wise but fellowship wise. George is not hesitant to express his opinion, but many of us aren't. He has made a lot of sacrifices by putting our club and the NBRC ahead of his own personal agenda. When our auction kit for our show was reduced to only about 8 good birds George unselfishly put up a kit of his own at our show and auctioned them off to support our group. To see him down on birds for the WC due to a tough predator season (one of the windiest seasons I have experienced here in Vegas since flying birds for the past 14 years) makes us appreciate George more and more each day. If you have a George Ruiz in your area supporting your group don't take them for granted. Take a good look at what that individual does for your group. Your group is one lucky group indeed. We here in Las Vegas are fortunate to have George in our group! Thank you George for all you do. Sincerely, Don and Richard Macauley Mac's Rollers Las Vegas Roller Club NBRC QSDC members
