I would guess the top pair are recessive reds and may molt out into recessive red mottles and the bottom pair are black grizzles.

The top pair is red checks and the bottom pair is tortes shell. Notice the three colors in the bottom bird.

I would venture to say that the top pair are recessive reds and the bottom could be blk grizzles or even tortes, depends after their first molt.

I think the first two are r-reds and the one of bottom ones is a tort and the other a black grizzle! ---------- Sal Ortiz

Pat, now that you have our attention and interest, it would be fun if you would take pictures of these birds after they finish their molt and bring back this thread with the before and after pictures for us to see. Wayne

Pat - My spangles start out exactly like the young recessive reds that you posted. After a few months to a year they will start looking like the crystal palace cock on the cover of Bill's book.
