List, how many of you that fly competition will stock a very frequent average roller versus a fast rolling frequent bird?

Sal you know my choice and decision,I would definately not think about keeping an average fequent roller, it would FOR SURE had to be the much faster one but it would have to have the style to go with it.You can have the frequentcy with the speed

I would stock the frequent bird if my birds were super fast but lacked frequency.

Who cares how fast your birds are if they only roll once a year?

at this time i would only stock what is needed in my loft. average rollers are not welcome.
i noticed both birds you mention are frequent, so the faster of the two would win out.

Define average.....if you mean 10 footers, I wouldn't give you a plug nickle for one, let alone stock it!! LOL! They are dime a dozen in my lofts.

Cliff is right.

If the bird does not impress,he will stay
in the kit box.

Very few spinners make good breeders,
and few breeders produce good spinners.

Cliff, average is a roller you can almost count the rolls on I did not talk about depth they can both be the same depth, what I braugth up is you have a average very frequent roller and a fast frequent roller wich one would you stock?

I pull the best survivors that I have to the stock loft.
I am finding it very difficult to make progress under the circumstances.

Sal, An average "very" frequent bird is a bird that doesn't seem to set up for the much needed large breaks and could possibly miss a break or two. I like team players. A "fast" frequent bird is of course that much more eye candy to me and the judge! Speed w/ frequency is a trait we'd all like to think were striving for, I don't think this would be a tough decision to make! Otis

You got that right Otis, frequency is nice is if all else is right, but once it passes a particular threshold it is meaningless.

I did the comp thing for a second.. and that is kinda a hard question fo me,, frequency is great however I perfer quality.. I think that is the chalenge in comp, finding a balence over the years for the two..I have bird's that I prep for comp,, in my back yard, and I have bird's that I just like to see roll,, ether way I am mostly by myself and have me to impress.. so the awnser from me would be find the balence and go from there ,, good luck..

List, the reason I brought this post up was to show most of the guys that do not fly comps that we are basically breeding and stocking for speed-quality and of course frequency and not just tumblers! Lol

that question does not specify how the bird performs, sure a bird will be fast or it can be frequent but will it kit or fall behind, will it fly for just 20 minutes, less than 20 minutes or more than 20 minutes, can it control the roll or will it come down hitting the ground really really hard? It's hard to what should you choose, a frequent roller vs. a fast spinner when you only know about the roll of the bird. hope this helps you out a little bit..
