I still read the threads Jay.

Some even give me a good chuckle. I have learned to let pointless threads run dry. It got a little weird in here for a while, and I thought I should let some time go by before posting again. I am not one to mince words as many of you have certainly experienced, so many people misinterpreted my frank comments as aggression and insensitivity. When I see things in here that go against what I think the breed is about, I snap. I am not going to comment any further about crests or bullshit color projects. When I did, I found there were very few that backed my hardline position. This breed is about performance. Period. There is no gray area there. You can spin your projects however you like, but I don't buy it. You can try it with the newbies. I try and tell what I feel to be helpful, and accurate. It isn't always the easiest place to be, and you become a bad guys of sorts. Kenny often finds himself in this position. Perhaps it was my mistake to even comment in the first place. I really felt that a lot of the advice I was giving, and the helpful advice of so many other vets just fell on deaf ears. If it isn't controversial, nobody gets out of their chair to post. In addition to this, some of my photos and comments were ending up on other sites, so I got weirded out about that too. I don't want something I have posted to be taken out of context, or used against me in some distorted way. Take care, and have a great holiday guys.

Milo,
Good to see you posting again.
Do not think for one minute that what you say is not herd, its herd loud and clear. I agree that this is a performance breed and should be left that way. Those that want to cross there birds into other breeds I guess have a right to do that, but for me, I try to stay out of the whole thing. All I can say is you wont find a qualmond crested large muffed bird at my house. If someone wants that, I really don't care, I just don't care for it and never did.

Milo, respect should be earned, and I have a great respect for you and your thoughts. I do not presume to speak for anyone but myself and I say, speak your mind! I have never heard anything but truth from your posts. This board needs you and those like you, if for no other reason then to guide new and oldfart fanciers. Thats all I have to say.

Hi Milo,

we have never met but with all of the posts of yours that i have read i would like to put my 2 cents in , if i may?

im in my first year back with rollers, had them 20 years ago
and a lott of things in this hobby have changed, and the rest i have forgoten,so im basicly a newby.

im glad to see you back and posting, i hope you continue.
your one of the many people on this site that i get alott of great info from, and thank you for that!

i respect your hard stand on the "color/cross breeding" subject.
one of the things i worried about when i was thinking about getting back into rollers was "is there any good bloodlines left out here? or has there been so much cross breeding over the years that there is no "roll" left in the birds now available, but lucky for me, thanks to people like yourself, tony and others like you, there are some great birds around.
as long as we have some one with enough gutts to stand firm on this subject there will be true rollers for the generations to come.
and for that i thank you sir!

and merry x-mas to you !

I think Nick will be back in his own time. He has eggs to fry and bacon to slap around. :)
