WaTtS UpP,If you want to be sure of what's what, individual is the best. If you have a close family, that's already pretty good in the air and loft, and supposedly already paired together before, then after the first round you should be ok in an open loft. If one jumps another it really doesn't matter as it's a close knit family. I don't know how often jumping another hen happens, but I'm sure it happens more than we think.IF you want to produce more birds faster use three pair of fosters for each special Pair. And breed year around! Nick, Tony sells all that stuff here to get your birds going! Nick, I think individual is the best way to go if you have the time and the space for it! ---------- Sal Ortiz

WaTtupP if your asking me, I give good 19% Game bird pellet's to my Breeders year around. Vitimins with electrolite's once a week in the water.oyster shells and grit year around. They pick what they need. Table spoon of vinigar to a galon of water a few time's a week.I had a 12 year old Henderson cock and 11 year old Henderson hen raise two rounds in 07 breeding season. so someting must be right! And two of the young were in my qualifying fall fly kit. So old pairs can throw the goods! If cared for properly. Clean dry, well ventlated loft also. ---------- Tapp

The only birds I ever pluck was racing homers,,never with my rollers ,I use a settling cage, for about two weeks some wait a month, depends on my training and how they are responding to my call..some guys tape there wings up before letting them out the first day after settling them , I just got 6 month birds from Dave Henderson and i just gave them 2 weeks now they are home, make suse you got those birds paying attention to you and their surrounding and not on escape.make sure they are real hungry when you let them out..good luck.. ---------- Ralph....

Tips on producing birds faster. Well no matter if you breed them in a open loft or in individual breeding cages your not going to produce more unless you use fosters. I have individual breeding cages for my breeders and an open loft for my fosters. They lay the same and hatch out the same. The only way I can get more birds faster is if I use fosters. But I do allow my breeders to raise every third round they lay. I dont foster every round out of them. But if you really wanted more numbers I guess you could foster every round. I wouldn't suggest it but that is the only way I know to boost your numbers. Best of luck! Have a Safe and Happy Holidays Brian Middaugh
