Sal,
You are correct.
Thats all I fly.
I have one Higgins cock and thats it.
Everything else is pure Smith.
I have only been back in the hobby for one year and so far these birds not only did well for me but exceeded any expectations I had for one year back in the hobby.

Hey hector,
I'll try an give you some backing of my line. The originals came from Ray Fisher, as I re-piped his back house for three pair of birds #19 red cock, #42 red cock, #4 blue x self hen, #68 red mottle w/f, #62 redx w/f hen, & a dun odd/side cock. I can't remember the # at the moment. These are the first birds with the exception of a few that I purchased from some guy that were flying some good rollers. One of these birds were a true stud CPRC-93-#51 ash red grizzle w/f (lucky me) the guy I purchased him from thought that he was an out cross of Higgins & Pensom come to find out that this bird was Higgins & Goss pure Houghton blood. The first year I mated these birds to each other and raised some nice rollers one pair did extremely well that was #19 & #4 this pair made a dun self cock that blurred out.The second year I mated that same pair and raised a shit pot full of spinners one in particular was a black self hen EVRC-98-258 super fast hen the funny thing is I lost this bird in a overfly and she came back nineteen day later with a crop full of feed and I never flew her again. Now this bird is OUT of a full brother and sister mating but I did not know that at he time. She is behind my line of bird mated on several different cock birds. The best mating she has ever been in was to a rec red cock from J Higgins full brother to his #1 cock this mate bred twelve young eleven made it to the stock pen one J Higgins flew a super star out of this mating and stocked it. One went to Robert Parker, then went to Steve Smith the others I stocked.Out of this mating came my #1 cock super star in the air and in the stock pen many of people are breeding out of this birds offspring and winning. There have been others as well that played a part of my line like the old champion red w/f cock from N Reed and the champion red x self hen from Norm but I never cross birds that don't go back to the original five birds that made this family. My advice to the new guys would be to find those click birds that's out there and use them or offspring from them and have patience.I hope this help you.
Johnny S.

Hello Johnny,

I have a bird that I believe you breed. NPA 00 1604 out of nbrc-z-0055-95 and EVRC-255-99. Can you let me know a little bit about this or these birds. How did they perform? Thanks.

Johnny,
You did a great job taking what you had and improving upon it.
Thats how you build a family of birds.
You made the family and credit should be given where credit is due.
Thats why I call them Smith pigeons.

Elopez,
I remember that bird 1604 red cock out of NBRC-95-0055 dun m/w & EVRC-99-255 red mottle w/f
0055 is out of #8 & IRA-87-605 blk self #8 is out #45&29
#255 is out of EVRC-98-295 red w/f & CPRC-96-171 blk self
#295 is off 0055 & 1795 #171 is off 0016&0025
That bird went to a guy in Bellflower Ca. and did very good for him then to Downey Ca.There were only two raised him and his nest mate the other went to Joes Luis Lorenzo and he has stock bird off of it.Hope that help you.

Johnny Smith bred my foundation cock EVRC 97 #358 and I've built a solid family around this bird along with my foundation hen WCS 97 #62 bred by Ray Fisher.
I placed #1 in the ICRC SOUTH REGION 07'!
I placed #1 in the ADELANTO FOOTBALL LEAGUE FLY 07'!
I was given the ICRC OVERALL CLUB THROPHY BY KEITH LONDON 07'! I also had a hen out of this family take TWO BEST INDIVIDUAL trophies in 07'! These are some of the best around......thanks guys!
